iRacing

The game locks to 83 FPS unless you uncheck it in the graphics options.

Eye strain might be from hard concentration.

Aye it could be that i guess, never really had the issue before - still feel like something is wrong or not correct with my drivers or iracing, as the little box next to AA with 0,1,2 in it, is greyed out on anything but min settings, so not sure.
Unchecked the limit and my fps on max everything is around 145, still some jaggies present even with 8xaa and the distance still looks wrong with the af at x16, going to need to look into this more i think.

Nice time :)

Good to see you as well, hopefully getting more time soon, and getting rid of an annoying illness, so be on a bit more.

My PB was in that session, but only down ~20 laps so far, 2:06.377 iirc on the first lap with a full tank, optimal is in the mid-2:05's I think and I can see that, dunno how much difference the fuel will make for a qually lap.

Doubt it matters anyway, I'm nowhere near being able to do a 70 minute race in these things, I just keep spinning without really knowing why, same thing as the lap before but this time I'm backwards in the barrier ¬_¬

Hope the illness isn't to bad. Defo have to run some laps when you are up for it.

It's not as often in the higher splits but you still get the odd idiot who just happens to be silly fast as well.

The only really safe grid position is on the last row, maybe pole as well with a rolling start :p

Just did a 2:04.955 \o/ definitely starting to get the hang of the car/ntm around here now, catching more and more slides but still having the odd 'crazy' spin, mostly in the left hander before the 180 degree right, and on the second to last corner.

I suppose its going to take a while to grind through the rookie licence? One irritating part of this game is getting penalty's when other people crash into you! Last night I was in third, guy come up the side of me and smashed into me. I was out of the race, he carried on and I ended up with 4x on the top bar!!

Took me less than a week and had my C Class licence within a month. Remember Rookie is not about who wins the race, its irrelevant. So don't worry about position.

Only just! Im guessing you got shunted in the race? I was leading for 5 laps then spun on the first corner! Doh! Held it together to take 2nd!! My first Podium lol

ooo nice guys :D yeah bit of a steal ;) (not literal) picked it up from that store that sells GAMEs, they have like a preused tech bit now with phones and shizzle and this happened to be in the display. gunna give it a go for a week and see how it is. like not too loud and everything works. ;)

Nah mate, I had 0 incidents but the folks turned up while i was on lap 2 so had to pit and quit out :(

congrats on the podium :D

Only my third week with iracing ive been loving it,however the new track to me is having
weird fps issues, running at between 120fps and 200 on some tracks. The current track of charlotte motor speedway in the mx5s is running a rather disapointing 44fps tops! In the pits its a dismal 18fps!
I know its quite a big circuit with lots of stands etc but really less then half my usual fps?

haha nice save! :D

so after a quick few test laps with the new wheel I've found so far: the wheel is pretty damn decent and scared the **** out of me when in the logitech setup I pressed a button on the wheel and it started to move as if possessed! :p

but the pedals are a bit disappointing. pretty much no feel in them(springyness) and i think the brake is rattling :p

might see if i can get a rj45 socket and serial connector and wire up an adapter so I can use my thrustmaster pedals ;) some one must have done it. time to practice my googling skills :)

yeah the pedals are the weakpoint of the DFGT, pretty much the sole selling point of the G2x wheels over it and even then the pedals aren't amazing.

So, just tried a race, kinda went as expected, badly :p

So it put me in the top split, but thankfully I was on the last row (27th out of 28), so when the green went I just hung back and gained about 5 positions on the first lap whilst trundling around, felt good. Then I was gentle for a few laps to get the tyres up to temp etc, my aim was very much just to finish, at least at this stage :p

So I start pushing abit, still not much, kinda mid-2:05's which seem to come semi-easily now I've done a few 4's, overtake a couple, see a few others in the wall, next thing I know I'm around yo-yo'ing around 0.5-2s behind a guy, same again ahead of the guy behind, and it's lap 14 and I'm in 15th place.

By now I'm pushing hard, this is a race damnit, did a new PB a few laps before of a 2:04.4xx, when coming out of the 180 degree right hander I drift a little bit wide, I try to catch, overcompensate and boom I'm in the wall, engine dead, race over.

D'oh.

"shortly" :p

yeah I've already managed to google find a thread on some forums where someone has done what I'm thinking but they butchered the wire. so I'm gunna go to maplin tomorrow and get me the 2 connectors ans try to wire an adapter up :D

also for those who use the DFGT, what degree of rotation do you play with. I knwo the wheel can go 900 but seems the game just defaults (during initial setup) to 180 degrees, so 90 left and right of centre. should I be using more or is it a personal preference thing?

With all wheels and iRacing set it to the wheels maximum rotation, so 900, iRacing will then map that 1:1 where possible (I believe there's 1 or 2 cars with >900 degrees, for those it's non-linear towards the end of the range, but linear around centre)

cool thanks :D anyone know any codes too. my month I paid for is up so think I'll do the 3 month but fancy getting a little off :p
