iRacing

Anyone else using an LCD TV for this game? Im thinking of hooking mine up using a DVI to HDMI cable. Would quality be ok? I got an old car seat and well.. you can see where this is going :p

Or am I better off using my mini hdmi port?

No real difference between HDMI and DVI-HDMI conversion as they're essentially the same protocol. HDMI adds audio and fluffy consumer stuff like CEC and ethernet.

Well ive ordered a DVI to HDMI adapater and a 10 Metre HDMI Cable as my setup will be otherside of the room.. Going to mock something up in wood at the moment then if I like it ill order some steal and get to work.. Maybe even pinch the passenger bucket out of the drift car! :p

Go DVI-HMDI.

Nothing wrong with VHA but some TV's won't accept a 1080p signal over an anolog connection due to HDCP protections.

I'm currently using a Samsung 40" LED LCD TV via HDMI.

I had to change on setting on the TV to tell it the input was from a PC and it made a massive difference to the picture quality.

No problems with ghosting either.

Ill give it a go.. Im going to knock something up briefly now out of wood and see if I can cope with it and the TV is going to be ok.. Ill try it with my new wheel tomorrow and if all is ok ill get something better knocked up. If the TV is useless im just going to stick to my desk/monitor combo I use now as im not going forking out for a new TV just for iRacing lol :)

Don't bank on it, I was only lapping in the low 1:23's with a 1:22.5 optimum when I had a blast last night. The first three times into turn one I spun and the same again in turn 3 and 4 when I got turn 1 right.

My fastest lap is 1:23.4 so you are faster than me mate :)

Just a quickie, how do I join that race on Wednesday? :)

Its Thursday mate :D And go to hosted races and you will see it, click join and enter the password :D

I tried to make it so the race finished around 21:45 so people can then join up with the normal races at 22:00

I look forward to coming last

not if I get there first!!!......wait....... :p

nice. was gunna ask... do we need to be in the entire session from the start or can we join in like mid way through the practice xD just thinking after an hour prac and 15 min qual I may not wana do a 30 min race :p haha!

I presume you can join at qualifying, the minimum you can purchase is two hours so just thought I would put the practice up. I will probably do 10 mins practice, few laps to qualify then onto the race and wreck everyone in the first corner :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

yeah see.... now that was my plan xD

warn you all now....just try and lap me... I DARE YOU!

but yeah seems like everyone puts in a huge practice just to make use of the time. but it's only what, $1? :p

soon find out ;) was thinking we could use the practice to make a ballin' OCUK cruisin videos... :p attempting multiple mx-5s drifting around a corner...

Cuffy, You wont be last by any stretch of the imagination, unless you Wreck that it.

Is it possible to turn of the fast repairs or is it too late? Tend to incourage people to be a bit risky as there isn't a major penalty to be had.

Yeah I can still edit it right up to when the session starts :-)

Hehe,

I'm happy either way TBH, just think racing under normal race conditions will help the newer drivers (me included) to race carefully.

you think too much ;) but nah I'd race more carefully...then forget about no resets and bin it then be 3 wheeling with full lock to go in a straightline back to the pits :p

If there are a lot of new people in your race I would 100% have at least one reset there as a fall back. Your paying for it make it fun. If 6 of the field have to retire on lap one or drive the rest of the race with a steering wheel that's bent, your end up with about 3 people left lapping due to no IR loss people leave hosted sessions as soon as they wreck, if there's lots of new people you have to take these guys into account..................

There be one guy who doesn't pull off the grid at the right pace, creating a huge bottleneck, as most rookies know the only way to make a race start is foot planted and no matter what do not lift, if a guy infront of you brakes do not lift his balls are smaller than yours, you are Senna foot to the floor all the way up to the T1 apex.

There be at least 2 T1 heros for ever 10 racers, so at least 3 people will be wrecked at T1.

If you make it through T1 get ready for the lap 1 hero's everyone known's a race is won on lap one, so forget traffic see point one, foot to the floor up to every braking zone and apex.

As most people are mortal someone will drive off by mistake and may roll back onto the track no fault of there own and cause a 6 car pile up, or on lap 10 look at there dials when they shouldnt and miss a brake zone driving into a wall gutted.

I knew i should have stayed away from the offical races in the RUF cup :( started 8th, first corner punted in the rear, side swiped from the right, and then someone brake checked me on the back straight no where near the brake zone and wollop lol madness, finished 10th with 13 inc, -25 on my irating :( and -.8 on my SR :( was not good.

Not to mention the guy infront of me on the grid didnt move, so evasive action required for that hehe.
