iRacing

Yeah it's generally ok if it's a good bunch, but worth having at least the one fast reset :)

Cheers for changing to Thursday, should make it, been a long time since I drove the MX-5 so I'll be a bit off the pace methinks :p

well I had a good night, did four races and gained 0.40 SR in total, has taken me up to 3.90 in my D class. I will be sad to see a new track tomorrow :mad::mad:

I had one 4th place, two 3rds and one 2nd, not bad for me, seems I am moving up in splits as well, te last race which I finished 4th It was the 5th split :D:D:D:D

I managed low 1:38's starting with 19 gallons when I ran some practice on Sunday. Optimum was in the low 1:37's but I loose all my time in the second half of the lap, I can be as much as 0.8 up on my best time as I approach turn 6, but it all goes down hill from there. By the time I'm at turn 11 it's all gone.

More practice needed.

I do like Zandvoort a lot.

Blimey, Suzuka is a handful in the C Spec RUF, never ever driven on Suzuka, and only had the RUF's for a week so kinda throwing me in the deep end lol, a plus note i managed to get my Silverstone times down to a 1.53 consistent with an optimal of a mid 1.52, was pleased with that. Now all i have to do is master another new track ive never driven on before lol.

Edit - the bloody fans in the 500 are doing my head in, not to mention the step feeling, low speed corners its annoying.

Suzuka is a tough track.

The S curves, Degna 1, braking into the hairpin and Spoon are really difficult to get consistently right. And the Ruf C Spec isn't an easy car to drive.

It will always launch onto your pc's 'primary' monitor (the one with the start menu), don't think there's any way to change that, possible make it windowed and move it across (not even sure it supports windowing?)

Easiest option might be to setup some profiles in the graphics driver/controls, on the AMD side at least it's easy to setup profiles with hotkeys to switch between, I've got three controlled by "Ctrl+Shift+1" etc which switch between a couple of single screen modes and the eyefinity stuff for iRacing.

Ill have a look at the Catalyst controls. I managed to window it, but its a bit annoying with the windows menu and top bar showing all the time :( However, the temp car seat setup I made is awesome! Hope my new wheel turns up soon so I can get it all setup, get some measurements and get into the workshop! :D

hehe nice :D yeah my suggestions for the tv would be either looking through your video settings if you can assign a primary monitor for program specific purposes. or as you said try in windowed mode, maybe doing alt-enter with it on that screen might make it full screen to that monitor.

could always just duplicate your main monitor onto the TV? this should work :) I've had problems with this with games but only because my monitor is 120Hz and TV is 60Hz :p but if both are 60 then a duplicate should be ok :)

I did some practice on it last night, keep ya chin up Suzuka is one of the hardest tracks in the world on tires, driver and setup. The twisty bits demand high down force, but the 2 high speed areas demand zero drag. So its a trade off.

The high speed sections like Dunlop and degeers 1 and 2 demands good down force to corner, the hairpin wants great mechanical grip to stop the back coming out under power. So your setup needs everything, which is impossible so its all a trade off. Also the C-spec car will take a while to get used off, Its terrible under braking coming down the box until you get it right. I know the track very well its one of my best tracks I was having to put 120% in though to stay on the track. Spoon section of the track for example its like threading a needle at 110mph on the brakes, brakes that suck :D

Great combo, that will separate the men from boys

I do like Zandvoort a lot.

So do I, I purchased it when I first got Iracing. Hardley drove it. But have ran a few laps there in the Radical doing ok times from what I remember, But its never a track I just put on to lap, from now on I will though it is immense in the RUF track car, It drives like the Radical did there but with grip :D The track used to feel very very very Iccy. It feels very grippy with enough wing for the fast sweepers on the set.

really enjoyed it last night that much so I was on there till the early hours, playing with the yanks. Ill be up for running some laps with you Wednesday or Thursday if you want??? Can defo see me racing this week. I feel I could hold that car on that track for 30 minutes np.... I dont know about everyone else though.

T3 on lap one could be very very SR unfriendly lol :D

The Driving Force GT Turned up, ive set it up and it took a little getting used to. After 10 laps on the new Mazda Cup circuit I knocked .4xx off my time.. It gives a much better feel as to what the car is doing compared to a non FFB. Also the brake pedal is a MILLION times better than my old wheel/pedal combo..

sounds like it will be separating me from the track xD

Havent you just got the game, if so you shouldnt even be worrying about C class and Grand Prix tracks, Get a season in the MX5 in the grand touring cup. That will learn you everthing you need to know.
