It's probably down to the high participation that the GT3 series has a higher proportion of less than stellar drivers in it, especially in the lower splits.
It might also be that the series uses two of the easier cars in iRacing than any other. The Radical is a bit of a handful by comparison, so there's lower participation and only the more dedicated drivers tend to race.
I still wouldn't let it put you off driving in it though.
If there're any new cars added next season then maybe the GT3 series might fall off a bit and the banzai idiots will have a new toy to crash with.
