iRacing

just going to place my order for g27 today has anyone got or point me to some good settings for it please...

looking forward to getting back in the ruf

Managed a bit of a test last night, and finally figured how to get the in game wheel to spin 900 degrees. Things were much easier then! Long way from racing withj people though.

Above: Logitech Profiler Settings:

Overall Effects Strength: 100% (use "min force" setting instead of the old 106%)
Spring Effect Strength: 0%
Damper Effect Strength: 100% (set to 0 in-game options)
Centering Spring: Unchecked (using spring will mask/hide your FFB input)
Report Combined Pedals: Unchecked
Rotation: 900° (by default it may be 360 degrees which limits your inputs)
Allow Game To Adjust: Checked

I went off the first corner on Laguna Seca in an MX5, need to adjust the braking a bit or learn to steer properly. Been used to so many different games.

Wscs? I don't normally run that series but I like the look of daytona.

Ah yes, I forgot you run in the Ruf Cup. Give the WSCS a try, the majority of the drivers are very respectful and Daytona is the one track where the C-Spec can really take advantage of it's top speed.

The secret to the MX5 is slow in, fast out. Brake early, get the car turned in as quick as possible, so you can get back on the power as soon as possible to achieve a fast exit.

Trying to carry too much speed into the corners will only kill your front tyres.

Well that's every race this season, apart fro Laguna, that I've been taken out.

Running 5th at Oulton Park in the Ruf and on lap 10 the guy behind smashes into the back of me at Druids. Looking at the replay it looks like he used me to slow down instead on the brakes. What makes it worse is the damage to me was so bad I got flagged to pit and he carried on without any damage and finished 3rd.

The GT3 series will cost me my A licence this season, my SR is at about 1.5 at the minute and I doubt I can get that back up before the end of the week.

Couldn't even file a protest because I forgot to save the replay.

You can add me too, Matt Stanton.

I tried the WSCS once, I was wrecked 3 times during the warmup and 6 times I was hit in the race by divebombers HPD's. I drove as conservatively as possible, moving for them, making my intention clear for where/when to pass. 90% of the HPD field drove like knob jockeys who want to make the tightest most unsafe overtake possible.

Barmy, I think iRacing need to toughen up on lost safety rating for poor driving, then these idiots wont get into higher licence ratings or will feel like they have more to lose.

Was it a BMW by any chance? That thing is built like a tank which encourages people to driver like idiots. If it was as fragile as the McLaren, they would have to be more careful.

That sucks. :(

You find the knob jockeys turn up for the first couple of weeks, but thankfully soon disappear. Don't let one experience put you off what is a very good series.

No it was another Ruf.

He hit me so hard that his front end was almost vertical.

Nor was he even attempting an overtake or did I brake early or change my normal braking point. It was either deliberate or a stupid mistake. If it was the latter then he should've apologised at the very least.

I've been hit in the past and the driver at fault has sent me a private message to apologise, but I'm not expecting anything from this guy.
