Iran why...

Obviously, I'd have a different opinion than you. North Korea would definitely be on mine. I heard they'd opened up again for tourism this month.
No amount of money would get me to go to India.

Honestly don't know why anyone would go to Iran and not think something like this would happen. Truly baffling.

India is probably fine for a man or if a woman is with a man (and not be left alone). I would not go as a single female, especially if you are white. Seen way too many women YouTubers who went there thinking it's fine but their experiences are just as everyone warned, one of them even tried to do things in tour groups, still got harassed.

People are naive. Judging by their social media posts they failed to grasp the difference between people in the street just being normal and indeed friendly like anyone else and those same people ruled by despots who may actually decide your fate and not in the way you hoped for

But it's not as if any of it was a secret, Iran is a country well known for arresting Brits simply because they are Brits. It is truly stupid to put yourself in that position.

Been to China and India and some of the top murder capitals of the world like Guatamala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Countries like Jordan and Bangladesh we had armed guards looking after us

Who knows? Maybe they are spies? I mean who goes to North Korea? But people do.
 
I've been all over the middle east, but Iran does not hold much appeal.

Iraq is actually amazing, so is Saudi Arabia but a lot of the western media makes it out to be a cesspit - but I guess you can only go on your life experiences and general experiences in general.

My issue with Saudi and others are their human rights issues and tolerance to other things. I’d rather spend my time and money at places where they treat people in a humane way.

Everyone’s opinions are different of course and I guess that’s beauty of it.
