Hi,

I've been runing the Everest stress test for ov 17mins so far. One of the CPU cores is at 93C. Is that miles too high? No crashes yet though.

Thanks

Hmm something isn't right there. What's die limit for temp on a C2D? You sure your HSF is seated OK? I'd reseat it anyway.

That or you're running a mental O/C on stock cooling?

Stock cooler? Maybe in the 60c's at stock settings.

And it shouldn't be sitting at 1.39v in Windows if you haven't overclocked it.

Have you tried the latest CoreTemp to make sure Everest isn't lying?

Set the CPU fan on max all the time. CPU temp goes to 77C max but the core temps are 10C hotter at 83-90C depending on the core. Mobo is always around 50C and CPU core is at 1.39.

I'd say it's 99.9% certain your CPU cooler isn't fitted properly.

And the fact that you say things like "Set the CPU fan on max all the time" would indicate to me that you're not running a straightforward system somehow.

Any possibility of getting some up-close pictures of the CPU cooler mounting pins?
