Is 9800 GX2 the speed bump we needed?

Is 9800 GX2 the speed bump we needed?
Yes but...
The nvidia drivers will likely let the card down as they have done with the 8800 x cards.
The cards aren't so great at heat dispersal

Do we still want more power?
Yes
..without having to resort to multi-core
..with quiet cooling solutions
..with quality driver support
..at a good price!

Multi-Core is the future..

8800 cards are great, drivers are abit shabby but do the job fine on the decent sets.

And, how is the 9800GX2 the speed bump we need? Its not it still does not run crysis and all its good for is people wanting to run most other games on 30" monitors.

the 9800gx2 doesn't run crysis

The leading score the bench thread is 85 something fps....

Ok lets see how many fools buy a 9800GX2 for 1280x1024 res..

For the price that card is, no it does not run crysis, lets see some benchmarks of it in DX10, 1680x1050, Very high, then all the other high res, be interesting to see what it does, but it will show, no the 9800GX2 is not the speedbump we need we need more to play crysis perfectly at 1680x1050.
