Is Amir Khan getting too big? + all things Khan vs Canelo

I think Chocalito Gonzales is probably the best pound for pound.. Thing is he only weights a few lbs being a flyweight, :D so will go largely unrecognised.

I think I've heard that name before, but I just looked him up and yeah... Pound for pound greatest fighter on the planet. Chocalito Gonzales>everyone else thats not fit to lace up his gloves.
Thats pretty sad really isn't it.

That wasn't a massive shot TBH. Khan just makes punchers look great :p

Shane Mosley and De La Hoya would have brushed that off and gone after Canelo, but I don't think they would have fell for the bluff to the body to begin with. Canelo is just way too good for Khan.

I am sure if Canelo had hit you with that shot you'd still be crying for your Momma - don't be silly.

Don't talk nonsense. My Mum hits harder than Canelo :p

she probably has a better chin than khan also.

just seen the piece on the bbc with kham saying brooks not a big enough draw, khan really does live in his own special world.

Khan seems to have said all he can about Brook TBH. He was saying Brook wasn't a big enough test for him last week :o

Brook needs to forget about Khan as it's clear Khan wont take that fight no matter what the reasons are. Brooks the man on the way up and Khan's not.

In Khan's defense he did actually take some good power punches in the early rounds which didn't faze him too much. Especially a couple of solid left hooks. But that last right was a full on max power on the button. Granite chin or glass chin, you're going down, that was an amazing shot fired by Canelo and perfectly timed. Tricked Khan into thinking he was going for the body, who lowered his guard to protect his kidney and boom.

I think Khan should try and rematch Garcia, and if he wins continue for a couple more yrs in the welterweight division.. If he loses cos he's now damaged goods, then just call it a day, before he ends up injured.

What got me most was how out of shape he seemed. He slowed from third round and was gasping in the corners after without really putting in that much work. Chin aside, can Khan go 12 rounds with a top level fighter any more?

Suspect that was partly due to the reasonably powerful body blows he was at times taking.

Definitely did you guys see the punch stats? Alvarez was pounding power shots to the left body. Khan did maybe one or two.. Whereas Canelo landed i think it was 25... Try taking 25 power shots to your kidney from a professional boxer, and see how well you move. We'd all be peeing blood crying to our mummy's.

Or maybe taking the year out has something to do with it. Either way when you're boxing you get hit and hit hard.

Still the question is can Khan go 12 rounds at the top level. Maybe he didn't run as much as normal for this fight, but he didn't seem like the athlete he was.

I personally think Khan is done.. He's saying he'll come back stronger, but i think he now knows in the back of his mind that he's not that a-lister he once thought he was. Wanting to take on the likes of Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather, saying he had what it takes to beat them... He was always a quick slick boxer, but the chances of him actually coming back stronger are slim to none. He'll fight Garcia, if Garcia even wants to bother (given he's rumored to be setting up to bring PBF out of retirement) he's not going to risk a loss to Khan.

If there's good money in a domestic with Brook, then i wouldn't rule it out. Depends on whether Garcia fights him or not.
