Is anyone happy with F1?

I suspect most spectators are fed up with the same winner and pretty much the same teams in the middle and at the back.

The commentators seem to be pretty hacked off that no real racing is taking place.

I suspect the majority of teams aren't happy, apart from Red Bull the other front teams are having miserable time, the middle teams aren't getting where and the back end teams are no where.

The team principles aren't happy as they can't get their own way, has the Concorde 2 agreement been signed or just an agreement to sign?

The drivers aren't happy, most seem to be frustrated not being able to actually race with all the limiting regulations. I think I could propose why every F1 driver next year is not going to be happy - but that would be a long list. Jenson might be happy I suppose.

The FIA aren't happy as they don't really have any control, Bernie and the teams have all the control.

FOTA aren't happy as they appear to have no power what so ever.

Cosworth aren't happy.

Bernie isn't happy as he might be in a lot of trouble

So who is happy? Max Mosely maybe? Ross Brawn? Michael Schumacher? Hmm :o

Andi.

I must admit, I took no interest in the last 5 or so races, it was clearly just going one way. I think I may be losing interest in F1 in general though, it just doesn't seem very exciting any more.

It seems too 'safe', and I don't mean drivers should go out with no helmets type of safe, rather it feels like due to pressures 'higher up' the teams just won't step outside of any boundaries and take a risk. I guess that's why I like Hamilton as an individual driver, he might crash X times out of 10 trying to do something, but at least he tried and that's racing.

Ok I've rambled.

Well at least there's regular meetings with the top teams, the governing body and other involved parties where they can sit down and come up with sensible ideas about how to improve the sport...

I'm losing interest

Sky
Rule enforcement
More and more about money every year rather than sport
Progression of technology yet spectacle gets worse
Poor resolutions to problems
The emergence of an almost 2 tier formula
The likely fact that due to monies the team I support will probably never win
Lack of people to talk to about it. Just look at the f1 threads of late

Note.. I did not say Vettel winning

Having been fearful that the breakaway formula threatened a few years back would be the death of F1, I am actually now starting to think the sport would benifit significantly from a different governing body.

Just look at all the major motor sport series across the world that are flourishing right now... not a single one is FIIA governed.

I'd love to see them bring back refuelling.

I only started watching in Lewis's first season, I still don't fully understand it now but I have to say it's getting slightly flat from my perspective.

i went to silverstone the year before it went to Sky and it was an excellent experience but since its moved i cant get into it, i have no interest in watching highlights when there seems to be very few and i had sky sports for so long but still didnt end up watching it as its just dull at the moment.

it seems to be a new set of rules every year that make a difference for the first few races and then nothing.

i would like to get back into it and go to a european race with my dad for his 60th next year but currently it just seems it would be a waste of money.

It has it's moments but the last few years overall have been getting worse and worse. Sick and fed up with Red Bull and Vettell winning all the time. The new tracks are crap and most need to dissappear (could do with the procession that is Monaco dissappearing too). More and more stupid rules popping up. Ridiculous penalties. They need to go back to how things were in the late 80's early 90's.

Yup F1 is boring but i still find my self watching it every race weekend.

I always watch it. I don't find it boring, but I don't find it thrilling like I used to.

I want wheels to come off, walls to smash into (no gay run off areas), refuelling, one engine per race, sparks flying out the back from the undertray.............
.........and most of all I want a greater freedom of design rules. Now they complain someone's wing deflects 2mm too much. Has it really come to this?

A budget cap makes sense, but is spending millions on aero just to save 1 second good money well spent? Nope, but the rules block 99% of innovation.

To be fair, this is for safety reasons. Roland Ratzenberger died because he ran over a kerb and his wing was damaged and disintegrated at 190mph, him hitting a concrete wall at not an awful lot less. If you'd seen the incident, you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy, and you'd do what you could to avoid wings getting damaged as easily.

Likewise for bits falling off cars and flying in the path of opposing drivers - see Massa. While I agree some of the regulations are too tight, you have to clamp down on certain things in the interests of safety.

Though I do of course agree that there should be more punishment for driver errors, rather than just more tarmac. :)

I'm not actually bothered if the same person wins every race. I'd prefer competition, sure, but if there was just some actual wheel to wheel racing I'd be delighted.

I agree with this. If one driver wins every race I don't mind, but I don't like by how much someone can win. This is the fault of the other drivers, as you cannot blame a driver for being too good!

reintroduce refueling.
remove DRS.
Relax the defensive driving rules so people can actually defend again.
Remove the lapped drivers must pull over rule and instead give them a penalty if they purposely leave the racing line/lift off the throttle
Give them decent tyres

I'd be happy.

racers would be racing

So we get a procession from start to finish with any passes done in the pits? Sounds enthralling.
