is BF2BC 2 worth it?

Amazing game however the majority of the time for me is spent trying to get into a game / getting kicked out for no reason then trying to reconnect for ages. I just opened the game and spent 10 mins trying to get a server list up with it continually failing to do anything except say "Connection to EA server has been lost". Infuriating.

Or in my case run like **** and if i get shot hurl abuse at the snipers.

I find it amazing how utterly moronic some of these tards are that "snipe". All they know is their rifle, its usually so damn easy to get behind them and go mr stabby on them its not funny. Apparently using the sensor ball is some type of witchcraft that would take away valuable "not moving their useless asses" time.

I just bought it last night on steam. But I find it almost unplayable, I can hardly see anything, at worst I am blind


at best things are hard to see,

I have turned off bloom to some help, is this a feature of the game to add to the atmosphere or am I just blind. When I played the demo on the xbox I could see things, this just seems silly.

how would this game run on a E2180 @ 3.3 4 gig ram and ATI 4850 overclocked?

it used to play CODMW2 without any issues is the gfx engine a lot more advanced?

cause my system spec is the only thing me putting off buying it!

I run at 1680 x 1050 with no aa, bloom or hbao at medium settings (I can't tell the difference between high and medium) and get 25 - 50 fps, it mostly hovers around 40fps. Personally i find this fine - deffinately worth getting the game, I haven't been this hooked for ages

I run in on my rig (see sig) at 1920x1200 and with 4x AA 4x AF, all other settings maxed out and runs fine.

If you want very high FPS then taking off AA and AF would easily do it.

Have been finding it extremely difficult compared to BF2, wasn't really enjoying it due to constant deaths and my own rifle been loaded with jelly beans. Always seam to spawn in the killing area of a team of well hidden snipers.

However played a rush map tonight and enjoyed it much, much more. Looks like I was playing the wrong game type.

the player reactions to things in mp is seriously clever eg if a sniper kills a team mate near by or fires a shot at you and misses you can hear you or someone yell out sniper

It's a lot of fun, just hate playing on servers where people dont work as a team, snipers who are miles away from the action doing nada is frustrating.

just for the record, just come up to level 16 and Online play is amazing... fantastic, love the ability to blow off the side of buildings to reveal its occupants

BC2 Default Brigtness = 69 turn it down (l'v set mine at 45 it does help)
Default Contarst = 39

Alter these to suite you.

I might make a new solider just to see how hard it actually is, I've spawned a few times with the default assault kit by accident and done just fine with a few mates around me on vent.

All it requires is squad play and a small amount of game sense.

Like all games, the weapons make less of a difference than knowing the maps. This is what makes it painful for a newbie.

As said, this isn't a problem of bfbc2... just of games in general

Seems fun for the very brief time i've played it in the 3-4 weeks its been out. I can connect to servers but just extreme lag. Anyone had problems like this? Pings are good on search filters but as soon as i enter battle just static or sideways movements.
