Is Borderlands 2 still worth playing?

I have force physx to GPU instead of auto. Has fixed the big lock ups and black screens.

But am I right in assuming this game isn't amazingly well optimised in general? Frame rate seems to be a bit choppy when things hear up even if I drop it to 1080p. Not a major issue, just wondering if it's just me or the game?

OH GOD HOW DID I MISS THIS THREAD!?!?!?!?!?

Yes worth playing! Epic in all regards and if you need a co-op partner I'll happily be it! Wrong side of 1,000 hours and I still want MOAR!

NIPPLE SALADS! :D

I played it a bit at launch, but didn't finish it. On occasion I see people say how they have poured 100's of hours in to it and still play it etc so I'm wondering if I should retry it.

I do like loot style games.

What's the draw to it? Is there like an end game loot grind then or do folks just replay the main story over and over?

You need to watch humbug/schneider and me tring to play it :D

So I redownloaded this game and to my lovely surprise it runs physx on high without a problem. It's pretty neat!

My only annoyance is that rumble doesn't work with the Xbox One controller which is supposed to be supported properly, yet my PS4 controller works just fine. That's bizarre.

I played a load of 2 and been looking to get the pre-sequal but I have 1 unplayed. Guessing I should just play that over the new one right?

One is good, fills in a bit of back story to 2 as theres a truckload of references to previous characters/events that i'm only picking up now after having played 1 (played 2, then 1 then back for 2 again with a different character)

Some of the mechanics arent quite as polished as they are in 2, like the applications of the various elemental types, but its still got the same feel.

Also, pele kindly requests a sacrifice, if it wouldnt be too much trouble.

I would recommend the Presequel over BL1.

Only thing that BL1 does better than BL2 is humor. It's otherwise pretty much worse in every way. Not a bad game by any means, but it may not hold up as well if you've played BL2 first.

Presequel on the other hand at least offers a number of new things that shake up the formula. The anti-gravity stuff actually does add to the gameplay(I was skeptical myself before playing), there's new weapon types(not just different brands), and the game basically has an entirely new set of enemies(whereas BL1 will mostly have enemies you've already fought in BL2). It's shorter than either BL1 or BL2 and I wish there was more variety in environments, but still - it at least feels fresh. So long as you're not paying anything close to full price, it's a must-play if you really liked Borderlands 2.

I'm having zero problems playing BL2 at 4K on either a single card or SLI.
I played BL2 at 1440p/60fps with PhysX on Low using a GTX670.

That said, I did play this on Windows 7. The game was a rare title that actually ran worse on Windows 8 and I wouldn't be surprised if that carried over to Windows 10.

Seems the game has a lot of devoted fans! Hopefully it grabs me. Tech issues aside I like it! Can you set it to auto loot the ammo containers etc?

I've done the 2nd boss, it felt a bit messy died a few times but not too bad

I don't think so.

Which second boss? Do you mean Midgemong? Boom & Bewm? Or Terramorphous?

The second boss to me was Flint, and it was messy as hell.

Great game, I've been waiting for another certain loot FPS for PC and Borderlands 2 is scratching the itch as it has done for some years now.

B3 should be immense.

Umm might have been flint? Fire everywhere?

tends to be, the side quests may be optional but if you don't do them then you'll end up getting outranked fast.

thing I hate is bosses that inexplicably can't be phase-locked by Maya, yeah I get the huge ones but there's a fair few "small" bosses that should be lockable.

Oh I am so going to start playing bl2 again. Slightly worried how many hours I'll lose this time.

Join me/us! :D

You can't auto loot but if you hold down the 'pick up' button it will gather all things that you have space for!

That's Captain Flynt to you! :D He can be a bit of pain especially when you're new to the game :)
