Is East London a dangerous place to live?

It changed enormously in the 20 years that I lived 15 minutes around the A406 from there. I suspect you parents wouldn’t recognise the place.

Romford has changed a lot in the past 20 odd years as well, wouldn’t say it’s a dump, some areas are quite run down and it’s getting too busy now. I’m in my late 30s and its amazing how much change you notice as you get older.

It’s a dump where you went. I’d never willingly go there and unsurprised by your story.

Pro tip- in London do not engage the locals in abuse. Best case is what happened today. Worst case is Newham is the last place you ever go.

London generally is a tip, I’m originally for Islington and even though it’s generally regarded as a “nice” borough - it’s still a dump.

Feral gangs and useless policing, hated it at the time but very glad my parents moved to Hampshire when I was 15.

Load of nonsense.

If you think London is a tip, ever been to Basingstoke? Or Aldershot?

I think we're hitting the stage of behavioural sink in a lot of the country now. I was walking out of the pub earlier and was confronted by what I assume was a 9 year old being aggressive to me. I wanted to stomp the little "darling" but just stared him out and walked on.

Any part of London is truly awful these days. It's making me wish for a benevolent dictatorship where bad behaviour is not tolerated.
