Well there is always hyperbole in a lot of what people say or in what some journalists or editors might write.

The seemingly lack of self awareness is hilarious, there was a 3 year conspiracy regarding Russia "hacking" the 2016 election, the same who people believed that were saying it's only a matter of time until Trump is impeached are now mocking and deriding the idea that people have questions around the validity of mass postal votes being used in this election. It's not unreasonable to question postal voting. I think Biden got more legitimate votes than Trump, but let's be clear, this isn't even a close election if Covid19 didn't happen, and it was despite that.

Hillary conceded immediately. Obama started the transition immediately and invited Trump to the whitehouse within days. There was never some grand conspiracy about the Russians hacking the election/changing the votes so that Trump won.

Analysing the last few years, we've had 3-4 years of solid corporate news coverage pertaining to "Russia hacked the 2016 election" and "Russia colluded with Trump to win the 2016 election", it all turned out to be bunk according to the Mueller report and Putin must have fell asleep this time but now those same people who believe(d) it are convinced that the 2020 election was totally secure despite lots of anomalies, massive use of mail-in ballots that most countries agree are insecure, question marks over the use of private voting systems and procedural failures like not allowing poll watchers to be present during ballot counting. They're calling it a conspiracy theory just to question anything relating to the 2020 election.

I was wondering do we have a generation of people incapable of independent thought who just take whatever the mainstream (corporate media) position happens to be on everything and who dismiss any other possibility? could it be gullibility to authority figures or just laziness? if you just take whatever position fed to you all of the time you never have to think for yourself and at the same time it's become easy (due to the social media mob mentality) to dismiss any other position as "uneducated" which feeds into the narcissism that seems to be quite rampant on social media.
