Lol, the reason I asked the question was because I was reading an article were a guy had murdered his friend and stayed off work. When his boss text him to ask if he was ok, he put kisses in, then the murderer who said he was sat with the body of his friend is just murdered replied to the text with kisses. Thats why I asked the question

There are a couple of things to consider here:

1 - Time of day/angle of sun

Whilst the 1/3 down blinds might not protect the back of the TV at that time of day, but it would expose the back of the TV to the sun LESS throughout the whole day as a rule. As such, the average panel temperature over the day would be lower, increasing Mean time between failure.

2 - Ambient temperature of room (not considering the use of AC or other cooling options)

The blinds being down 1/3 would probably reduce the rise of the temperature in the room over a day. So 1/3 down will most likely decrease the average ambient temperature of the room over the day. This would have a beneficial push on Mean time between failure of the TV.

Ergo, her logic is accurate, and likely correct.

However, that is not the problem. Something else is bothering her, and she is using this as a way to get back at you

I once had a similar issue with an old boss of mine. I'd completed a task, no matter what it would guaranteed always get the comment "just one thing" and then get me to change something, was funny really because I'd change it and then find he had changed it back to how I'd done it originally, I'd then change it back when he wasn't around to how he told me to change it! After all, it wasn't like he could confront me about it. Now that definitely was a control thing.

Manipulative behaviour imo. Whilst my ex never mentioned the bit about not being together, she used to do this a fair amount. As others have said, get out of there and find someone more emotionally mature.

Your partner sounds like a nutter, grow a pair set the blinds how you want and the next time they threaten the realtionship make the decision for them.

Had a boss like that was very annoying - was funny a few months after he'd left a rumour went around that he was coming back and 2 people upped and gave their notice in the same day - turned out it was someone else with a similar name.

IIRC 17 people left in 3 months under him which pretty much says it all - albeit I think some of them left to go to university.

When I was a child and living at home with my mum she would not be happy if I opened the blinds fully to the top. She would say it looks nicer that way. She would say the blinds all the way up to the top looks silly. I dunno, maybe she has a point!? This might be the same for your GF.
