I'm inclined to say that if you're going to start WoW, wait till the next expansion comes out before you do as it'll change a lot of things about.
This, especially if you're in any kind of PVP which in WoW doesn't exist since first expansion.
And then if you're into PVE, I haven't played most of those games but I suppose stuff like FF or LOTRO would be better there.
+1.
It's never too late to start playing, there are still lots of lower level players about.
Like Jokester said, I'd wait for the new expansion pack, it's going to change things and you might enjoy it more![]()
no disrespect.. but... here comes the disrespect- try other MMOs they are infact better.
I like that you say fact, when this is such an opinionated post. I have played a lot of MMOs and have found none (in my opinion) to be equal or better than World of Warcraft.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but there are very few other MMORPGs that host PvP tournaments where one can win real money if you win at a competitive level, WoW is successful for various reasons, but as I have stated haters will indeed hate with their nostalgia perfecto rose-tinted glasses. WoW is not perfect, WoW has never been perfect, WoW will never be perfect. Neither is any other MMO.
its not to late to spend over £100 a year on subscribing to a soulsucking cartoony game that has more grind then an axeman.
so go ahead.
lol wut... if tic tac toe extreme had 11/9 million subscribers you would see extreme ca$h prizes, as the advertising revenue from a captive 9 million people pays alone for any token prize.
trying to defend the game you clearly love from a middle ground perspective doesn't make you look nuetral just a bit stupid in my opinion..![]()
Take a look at the cataclysm, the new worgen and goblin stuff, ITS 5 YEAR OLD SAME MODELS
it's not like a new class or something
The arena hasn't changed since it's been released, it's one big grind fest to get your recolored glowing weapon that's been in the game already and just got recolored and "HAS NEW STATS".
It is not the game it used to be, it should be renamed to World of Arenacraft or World of Grindcraft and it has no sense anymore.
...Endless whining blah blah....
Except that the OP's question was this 'I played it for a few weeks in 2006 or 2007 and for some reason stopped (can't remember why) would you say now is too late to start again and be a newbie in the game?'
And you haven't answered this question. All you've done is complain that a game you've clearly played to death isn't new and shiny any more. For someone who has played the game for 2 weeks 3 years ago there is plenty of good stuff to see and do.
you gotta love the WOW haters.
