- Is it possible to be too rich?

Oh no you didn't! :p

The fact the country is bankrupt and we have a huge percentage of the population leeching what cash there is through benefits is causing the country's ills.

A lot of people are thrown on the scrap heap after many years of working and not all can get a job,so it's a bit unfair to label everyone claming benefits is leeching:confused:

All I want to know is why is topic of money so sensitive? Talking about salary can easily create tension. And as someone who is very ambitious in his career, I noticed I started becoming obsessed with money. Even attaining large some of money, it didn't bring happiness.

I am starting to believe the phrase "money is the root of all evil".

ordered 2 or 3 bottles of champaign at 87$k each.

more power to her though seeing as she has not worked for a penny of it, maybe not. this is the same girl who classed a 'zit' as a major problem.

if a self made rich person wants to spend extravagantely, who am i or anyone to stop them? it all boosts the economy.

There was a program on telly recently called billionaire girl. And this rich girl Tamarra went to a bar with her mats and ordered 2 or 3 bottles of champaign at 87$k each.

Even if I had over 8 billion $ usa then I would not throw money about like that.

I wonder how rich she must be to get knocked as described.

Helps if you know who her dad is lol...

but i wouldn't "waste" it on certain things, but i would on others.

Cars>alcohol for example...i'm sure others would see buying cars as a waste, as i do with alcohol

But to answer your question, No you can't be too rich...you can be greedy though and that is a big difference

People with more money than sense are too rich IMO.

There are some extremely hard working people out there that have done their time and got their millions - good for them. Some are arrogant with it, others aren't. I think the harder you've had to work for something the less likely you are to blow it on tat.

E.g. Premiership footballers - a huge part of their wage is actually from their image rather than physically playing football. It's crazy money to give to teenagers or 20 somethings and no wonder they have a new super car each week and go and blow it on other nonsense.

To me, being 'rich enough' would be to have no mortgage, earn what I'm on now (which is perfectly manageable with current mortgage) and have a pension that pays a reasonable return at 60.

I've come to the conclusion that i don't ever want to be a millionaire, as pointed out, it's too easy to go and buy something, and it won't feel special, i think it's better to want something and work hard to get it as you appreciate it more. I'd rather be as i am, comfortable, but not in a position to go and squander money as and when i feel like it.

That's rubbish!

I think you mean people that are born in to money are the ones who create the problems. I know a lot of people who have worked very very hard in their lives, just as hard as anyone that has become rich and wouldn't begrudge any of them a lottery win or inheritance.

I'm by no means saying it's the case for everyone, but having something handed to you for nothing generally means you don't really value it in the same way as if you've worked hard for it. Michael Carroll being a very good example of this.

Also we have to remember many of us would not have jobs if the rich did not spend their money and just kept it in the bank.

ok she spent a few 100k in a bar but that bar probably employed 15+ people, spends money on advertising, DJ's and so on.

Because social media is the domain of the poor?

Well I don't know anyone like him on Facebook. He just updates photos of his latest car or house or possession. Constantly bragging and rubbing it in your face about his wealth. His latest update is a photo of a receipt from a meal he had at The Ritz last night. I just don't think its normal ....

That's Tamara Ecclestone. Daughter of Formula 1 mogul Bernie. That's all you need to know.

I've changed my mind about that other guy, you're my favourite again.

And no, it's not possible to be too rich, it's just possible to be a ****.

Cost is relative.

There is no such thing as being "too rich". If I ever won the lottery or became the massive drumming superstar that I'm destined to be (;) :p) - if I ever felt I had too much money, or felt I could spare a bit of wonga, I would donate a lot to charity.
