Is RTS still a thing?

Ashes is pretty good and has no unit limit, at least it didnt in pre release. I built about 10,000 of the top end destroyer things for a laugh. They were glitching and bouncing all over the screen there were so many in one spot. :p

Saying that, I find the game a bit clinical and nowhere near as fun as "old school" RTS games like C&C. Its worth playing though.

Yeah it is, cnc generals is when I had my most fun with rts, me and my friends would always play it most nights and all night erst at weekend, would have the money maps too always said no attacking until 5min has passed and would always be a mega battle

Still playing Company of Heroes with the Blitzkreig mod.

Awesome game, ahead of its time.

Eh? StarCraft 2 is massive, look no further than that game if you want old school skilful RTS.

I myself am partial to the dawn of war games as I like the setting and the smaller number of units is easier for me to handle.

Aoe2 HD great for nostalgia too.
