Is there anyone else out there who remembers K240 on the Amiga from around 1994?
That was probably my first RTS, and my word it was a lot to ask of the hardware at the time; but there's a lot to be said for getting into a 1 fps battle with two massive fleets of sprite-ships all firing lasers at each other ![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/smile.gif)
(Running on a 2mb Amiga, very few games ended with either victory or defeat, most ended at the memory limit when it crashed with a guru error. Many years later, you can run an emulator with far more memory and the game is faster and more stable than on its native hardware! Wouldn't be shocked if a modern mobile phone could emulate it faster than my A1200 ever ran...)
((Yes I'm old.))
