IS the AMD 9000 Series worth it

9000X3D will be worth it, vanilla 9000 series is worth ignoring.
Bit of a sweeping statement there.
It completely depends on what you intend to do with it and which gen platform you are coming from.
Not everyone is a gamer, for content creators on perhaps Zen 3 or lower it is actually a very good upgrade

I was defo thinking of going 9000 series from 5000 series but the actual improvements although an improvement simply isn’t enough to justify it. I do game so maybe the X3D chips will enough to justify the cost

All my games are ok at 1440p. Yes the 9000 series are better but I was thinking not much better than the 7000 series or not better enough. Let’s see what the x3d are capable of

i get what your saying but even the 7000 is much better than yours.
my 5700x3d is a good bit better than yours, and the 7600x is a good bit better than my CPU. and thats just compounded as you work your way up the 7000 and all the 9000 and better than 7000.

i really dont know what people was expecting out of the 9000 like 4x performance or something

It’s 20% per release at best but the 9000 isn’t more than 10% faster than the 7000 series at best.

for just gaming yes some over workloads are 25%, But you dont have 7000 you have 5000

5900x vs 9700 is about 40% in games. thats a good gain and thats not even the coming x3d chip.

Decided to by a 7900x3d as an interim upgrade from my 5950 with the new Asus ROG hero am5 board. I'll sit it out until th e9950x3d drops and see if th eperformance is good in games and fusion 360.
