IMO its the most pointless console update in years. Nintendo must be smoking some really great **** because they have no idea what people want at the moment.
Dont get me wrong, I have a dslite and I love it, but I just hate the route that nintendo are taking at the moment, its too gimmicky. And their ignorance concerning wireless encryption is so annoying, the least they should do is release some sort of firmware update and enable something better than WEP, no one who has a brain would use WEP in this day and age. But no, instead they put a camera in, removed the GBA slot and processor, and made an advert of some guy and his girlfriend having fun by taking shots of each other with the camera and playing about with effects.
Honestly they are clueless.
What games?![]()
If you own a DS Phat, or none at all: sure.
Wouldn't it have been better for Sony and Nintendo to invest in developing a true next gen handheld instead wasting money?
Why? The DS is ace.Wouldn't it have been better for Sony and Nintendo to invest in developing a true next gen handheld instead wasting money?

Yeah the DS is ace but so is the gameboy, but things have to progress.
Just searched for DSi threads as my wife suggested getting our son one for his 8th birthday.
He currently has a Lite but the bottom screen is damaged (again), so rather than pay £60 for it to be fixed (or buy a new one) she suggested one of these.
My boy plays with his DS daily, I'm sure he'd love playing around with the camera etc - But I'm not convinced it's worth an extra £50/60. He also still plays his old GBA games (and has quite a few), and has Guitar Hero on tour (for Xmas). None of these will be of any use with the DSi.
Will they start producing new games exclusively to this console? If not I can't see anything warranty an extra 33% premium over the Lite?
