Bin, what made you go for that over the Q9300. I'm thinking of going the Q9300 also.

Just sent a webnote asking that now people have started recieving the 9450 whereabouts on the list of pre-orders I am and did they know when they where getting more of them.

The answer I got was
"We have no list of pre order people sir, we have no time frame of when you will recive this".

So how do they know who to send them to first? :(

Lol, sounds good! Might pull people's names out of a hat!

Just considering alternatives. Why does the QX9650 cost so much more? As far as I can see it is the same chip as the Q9450 with a higher standard clock.

Patience people.

Have pity upon those of us that sold our Q6600's back in January in anticipation of the Q9450's appearing in early February.

lol not really, its been clear there was going to be a delay for ages and the people who were "exchanging" were generally otherwise knowledgeable peeps trying to get a free, sorry cheap lunch....:)

I sent them a webnote asking why people who had placed orders weeks after me had got theirs already as I assumed pre-orders would be dealt with in the order received.

They replied that preordering does not work on a first come first served basis so I've asked what's the point of preordering then..i'm still waiting a reply to that one.

Seems kind of unfair to me especially as they have had my money now for 7 weeks, which isn't a big deal to me if I knew I'd be one of the first to get one but as there doesn't seem to be any system to how orders are dealt with it seems a bit off really.

I just rang to change my delivery address back to my work address. The latest random answer as to when they are arriving is 3 weeks.

I dont know much about intel making stock of these and shipping them, but its kind of pathetic how you cant get your hands on one yet.

It has been seen on some US retail sites but stock must be so low that they sell out within hours if not minutes. If you check out the intel shipping chart, they are expecting to have about equal production of 45nm & 65nm quads by Q2 but atm they will be milking the QXs and the Q6600 for all they are worth and hold off on releasing the more anticipated 9450/550 for as long as they can I imagine.

Perhaps you should submit a Webnote via the complaints one to ask them about there seemingly questionable pre-order policy
