is there a tool/easy method to remove nails from plywood floor

NO:D

Hard removing them, need a good long crowbar to pull them out, as said earlier , I use same method, it's easier, then cut them off with hacksaw, small grinder & hammer flush if needed.

Be careful, might have pipes, cables notched in close to top of joist.

Drill round them with a holesaw cutting bit, then you can pull up the plywood and get at them properly. Either pull them out, cut them off or bang them down out the way.

Cheers guys, I'm not looking forward to this at all, middle age has cruelly depleted my mojo and resilience for hard manual labour

long crowbar or prybar would be my suggestion, if you dont have one to hand the biggest flat headed screwdriver you have sould do. Work the end around each nail gently lifting

Crowbar and for the persistent blighters I used my Bosch multi-tool with saw attachment

Got the pleasure of ripping our bedroom floor up shortly - seriously not looking forward to it but makes the world of difference once done and some good quality boards down (screwed in!!!)

Replaced a floor in the bedroom here last year, I took the opportunity to lay some 200mm insulation I got off Freecycle between the joists, certainly cuts down the noise.

Still have enough insulation stashed away for the other bedrooms & landing later this year.

Yes, Bahco nail puller.

These look good but eye watering price

True, worth their weight in gold though. Got one to redo the house with, and its one of my most loved bits of kit!

Darn expensive that Bahco nail puller, I make do with my48" Roughneck Wrecking Bar T Type & a Roughneck Gorilla Bar 48".:(

I purchased a 14 in gorilla bar today in anticipation, I must say I`m impressed, so much so I might purchase a bigger one. Pulled loads of nails out tonight after work.

Nail frequency :-(

Vanquished nails!
