Is there anything wrong in this picture?

That happened on my fiesta, an awful smell but no strange noises though!?!?

I took it in for a service at an independant garage and was told that I needed new brake pads and brake shoes, which is apparently a common ford problem.

Yes but when the alternative is public transport I'd rather risk death tbh :)
 
All fixed - new discs and pads, problem completely gone away, car stops no trouble, sorted.

Well happy - first thing thats 'gone wrong' and it turned out only to be consumables :D
 
Could you take a picture of the same angle as you did before, just for a comparison shot to see the difference of brand new disks and pads. Curious as to see how much thicker the discs are etc.
