Is this a bad way to choose music?

Similar aspiration to me, I envy people when I see them just walk in and buy something just because they like the look of it and without having to plan everything out :o
Went to Tesco with a friend and her partner a few months back, they just went over to the DVD and CD section and bought 3 DVDs and 2 CDs just because it was the weekend and they felt like it. I'd love to do that one day.

There are negatives to full time work though, like the full time work aspect :(

The other band who we will call 'Impelling Shaft' I know from only one song and although they have recently released another album I bought the older one as it was reduced.

Guess it :)

Need more clues though. I'm stumped at the moment. Maybe i should just give up to avoid more embarrasment. :o

Have another look at post 43, there are two good clues there :)

Let us know how that turns out :)

If you mean the album, I have it on now and I'm loving it, the album style is very similar to the single 'do you realise' very electronic but smooth with landscapey background sounds.

I would say its pop at its best, a very sweet vocal, catchy tunes but with a touch of meloncholy too.

Sic might want to give an alternate view point

in a rare turn-of-events, i'd like to wholeheartedly concur with you.

if you've not heard it, now's the perfect time to get it because it'll become your album of the summer. can't wait to give their new album a whirl

CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH!

Who in my mind sound like Talking Heads reformed but that is absolutely no bad thing :)

If you liked these I can do some more later or we could do it as a pass the parcel music quiz where the person who is right does the next one :)

Thats how i chose most of my CD collection in the 90's. Some good and some bad came from that :). Hardly do that anymore :(.

So far as Coheed and Cambria goes, think Rush but with more metal influences. Their latest album is just superb.

I choose new music through a combination of BBC 6Music, asking friends (and OcUK Peeps at meets!;)) and Napster. With a full subscription to Napster it gives me plenty of opportunity to 'try before I buy', hence I've been listening to "A Perfect Circle" (they sound a bit like "Live"), "Yellowcard", and "Meshuggah" (way to heavy for my taste.. don't think the vocalist ever sang, he just roared in my ear for the entire album.)

*sets "We are Scientists" and "Flaming Lips" downloading*

I loved "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots", Tom Robinson played that at least twice a week on his 6 Music show about a year back.
