This looks extremely interesting, but as members of the public, say it DID turn out to be something mega interesting to science/a crashed UFO, how would we ever find out?

Well I watched the search for liberty bell 7, which is the space craft used by Gus Grissom, they used side scan sonar(which is what that image is from) and the liberty bell capsual was but a few pixels compared to this.
