The Universe is over 13billion years old and our planet (and solar system) less than a quarter of that so many billions of years worth of life could have come and gone in that time and at some point some life somewhere could have evolved with intelligence and crashed on on Earth! Considering humans have only truly developed technology over the past 100 years you can imagine what millions of years could give to an intelligent race.

apart from the obvious (random trench, meteor, USO or fake) i'm struggling to think of what could have realistically caused this. you can see i really am scraping the bottom of the barrel when my best idea is the front of an early icebreaker ship (on its side)
