Is this legit?!!?!

I emailed them and asked them where he had seen my CV, and he replied saying on Hot Online.
I don't remember putting my CV on there, but Hot Online looks like one of them sites that searches through other sites CV databases too, so it could well have been on there :S

I had that...I had some company based in Canada ringing me...and I said how do you know my email and name? They then read out my email address, so I was like "Yes but where did you get it from? And where the hell are you based?".

To which they replied, "we got it from one of our contacts, as you allowed your email to be sent out" or something like that anyway.

I then told them to not ring me again, as it was getting annoying...Even though It would be nice to work over there.

omfg. Never trust a cold caller...

forum looks like something a 16 year old cobbled together, website isn't much better.

Ask them what they have to offer in the way of work. Remember, they are just an agency and the more cv's they can send out to clients the higher chance they have of making a placement.

Drive it from your end, don't get dragged along.

Yeh, I've just emailed them back asking for a bit more information about themselves and what they do about finding work and relocation etc, as the website is a bit thin on information.

See what response I get.

On first impressions, the site looks a bit cheap, contact detail is rather lacking...

Plus that seems a little too much information required :/ I suggest you try phoning/emailing, and try and get some sort of verification that it is a 'legit' company.

website looks like it was done in 2 mins using a template. and the forum, lol well they didn't even replace the phbb logo on it, looks like a fresh install you can download straight off sourceforge. don't risk it. it ticks me right off people have the nerve to do this stuff when they would probably make more money being legit.

He just emailed me back....

We work with a small number of employers at a time, who areall interested in recruiting for similar positions. It is slightly different all the time, depending on the employers.

Sometimes we arrange big information and interview days and they come to the UK to meet everyone. Sometimes we do small sessions with 1-3 candidates at a time and the employer does not attend.

We do the interviews. Collect the paperwork and refer suitble candidates to employers to review. They make (or do not make) an offer. That offer includes the position, salary, benefits, relocation etc. It is different for each employer. We send the paperwork to the lawyers to process visas, and keep an oversight to make sure everything is running smoothly. Some employers offer air fair, some relocation bonuses, all offer at least a month free accomodation, some more. They are all different.

But once you are here, you work for the employer, not us. We have about 100 recruits here at the moment, and more arriving all the time.[/font]

I don't know how your CV got on the HotOnline website if you didn't post it. We just review the CVs that are on there for the ones with the right qualifications as we have done for over a year. No-one has ever said before they didn't post on there.
If you ave any specific quesitons, don't hesitate to ask.

I'm going to reply and just ask them why would they need photocopies of all my important confidential documentation before an interview, surely they would only need to process this sort of stuff after an interview and I had been deemed suitable for employment.

See what he says!
