Is this legit?!!?!

Turns out it actually is legit, spoke to a few people who have actually been through the application process and are out there at the moment. One of the ones I spoke to actually knows someone I went to school with.

To me, the amount of information they are requesting seems suspicious. Passport scan? Drivers license scan? What kind of legit reason would they request those for, surely they can ask the government for information such as if you're a legal citizen etc?

Not really, I did an internship with a large company working abroad for it's US arm and had to send copies of a lot of what was on that list (inc. passport).

FWIW there are a lot of google hits for their website too, a lot of them on careers sites and university careers pages. Not that that necessarily means anything.

He just emailed me back....

I'm going to reply and just ask them why would they need photocopies of all my important confidential documentation before an interview, surely they would only need to process this sort of stuff after an interview and I had been deemed suitable for employment.

See what he says!

If they are flying people over to interview I think they have the right to see if you can actually get a visa and work in the US before they interview you. As I said earlier US companies seem to want everything up to and including your soul before you can work for them.

Cool, so are you going to consider it?

Please don't forget bank details and any secret passwords, this is important to check that your salary will be deposited into the right account.

It is legit, but they certainly aren't one of the better headhunters here in the US. Unfortunately I don't know of any that suit your degree. All the HHs I deal with are in IT.
