Are they more experienced than you? Just because your older than them doesn't mean you automatically qualify for a higher wage! I get paid more than some of my peers who are much older than I! :p

I am of english ethnicity(sp?)

I basically jumped at the job simply because of the 'advertised' 5.35 for 16 hours washing dishes

edit: INFACT There are 2 poles on 5.35!
 
your underage workmates are lying to you

no one in there right mind would pay 5+ quid an hour to a 16yr old to wash dishes

min wage is the norm for that sort of job so i cant see why theyd pay so much extra...
