Is this spec ok?

I'm finally going to order a PC now. I have exactly £970 in my account so thats my limit.

I need everything apart from an OS, a mouse and a keyboard.

Thanks, I went with that HDD and the MSI mobo ( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-165-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1906 ) and it now comes to £969.88.

Personally i would recommend a different cooler. The freezer 7 is not really sufficient in my opinion especially if you plan on doing any over clocking. for another £8 this week only i would go with this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-040-AR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395 the freezer 7 has 130watts cooling that one has 300 for the extra few £ worth it in my opinion.

I think he picked that particular cooler because he needs one for the OEM cpu, its cheap and cheerful and will do the job.

Also Sandybridge runs nice and cool, uses less watts than previous Intel i7/i5, and Anadtech got theirs to 4.4GHZ using just the stock intel heatsink.

Yeah I don't plan to do any overclocking, although I hear that the 6950 can be turned into a 6970. Is this recommended?

you dont even have to use the 6970 clock speeds, just unlocking the extra shaders is a big boost.

Cool, Ok, I'll save that link.

I'll wait for a bit in case anyone else has anything to say and then I'll go ahead and order it.

Another thing, the HDMI cable. Is it worth it? I've heard there isn't any difference between them and saving a few quid would be handy (typical student).

Your right there, remember someone in General Discussion posting a picture that showed the sod all difference between bog standard cabling and higher(more £££) stuff.

Think its because a digital cable is just passing 1's and 0's, unlike speaker cable or audio interconnects that actually pass a various signal along.
