Is your Boss your friend?

Yeah, would do with my boss. She's hilarious, at our Xmas do we were openly discussing her brazilian (yeah, that sort..), and if we'd ever had s*x in the office.

Good times.

SFX?

Why would you have special effects in the office?:confused:

Yes, my boss who has just left for South America to go travelling, was a good boss and an awesome mate as well. Had some good times, and still trying to work out the new one and whether she will make a decent enough replacement yet..

I'd happily go out drinking with my managers ones my house mate and the others are top people

My boss is the best, he is by far the best boss I have ever had. He makes me feel complete.

Mind you my boss owns this forum :)

Seriously though - I would not want to work anywhere where your boss is not somebody you can relate to and have a joke and a laugh with, not a nice environment for anyone.

To an extent, but I work in a bar, so it's not unusual for us to finish shifts about the same time and stick about for a pint. My duty managers are all sound - but yeah, somewhat different to an office environment.

My immediate line manager and I get on very well - in fact I've been round to his house for dinner, and we've been out for a few drinks too.

Although I broke my cardinal rule about fraternising and/or dating people at work (no, not my boss :p), I've found life to be no more complicated as a result - except the teasing you get (but that doesn't last long).

There are some members of management and some of my reports that I wouldn't fraternise with - however, as long as you leave personal stuff at the door then I don't see the problem.

In my old job, work and socialising lines blurred a lot - but that's because you had little choice being away from home all the time.

It does depend on your relationship that you have with them and how long you've known them. I think it also depends on how senior you are in the company. :)

I regularly spend out of work time with OcUK staff, through there own choice.

I dont do that, i find familiarity breeds contempt.

It also makes it harder to sack them when they **** up.

Yeah, I sometimes go out on the standard payday Fridays and most of the team and managers will go out.

Then there's certain guild runs and raids that everyone does...

It's a pretty good place to work. :D
