ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

That tin foil hat must be getting pretty heavy! Don't let that get in the way of pure fantasy though.

Likely course of events: the Russians were notified of the coalition intent to strike these locations. Would the Russians warn against that and prevent it from happening though? Of course not :) they'd sit back and laugh at the mess.

Lol, hypocrisy 101 there.

Who has done more to attack ISIS? Russia or the US?

You need to apply the same criteria (avoiding pure fantasy) to yourself. Neither the US nor allies have alleged what you have.

Your question and conclusion is based on the assumption that they were notified, and there is no sign they were.

His tin foil hat must be getting heavy too :p

The area swarmed afterwards with ISIS... Almost like they were expecting it. But yeah... The Russians fault they allowed the US to bomb Assads troops.

There is a lot of deconfliction of assets between Russia and Western allies in Syria. There is also warning when large strike packages are planned as well as other notifications for other strikes suck as ballistic missile missions. It was slow to start when the Russians first pitched up but it was realised that it would be sensible to cooperate to a certain degree in order to reduce risk to one another.

Big sky theory only applies so far.

Strange no? Wait wait... I know what you are going to say.... The Russians didn't warn the aid convoy and then just sat back and laughed.

From the Assad troops being bombed by the US and Britain: Despite the obvious confliction between your opinion and the facts that Russia called a UN meeting over the incident of the Assad bombing.

As I said before "Another accidental precision strike??"

New info says barrel bomb. More likely Syrian air op?.

The Americans bombed the UN and convoy now? Well whatever next!?

Red team or blue team. Who will win?! It doesn't matter, you've picked your team and you'll support them through to the end!

Cute.

They are just dumb freefall.

How low must the chopper have been to have an odds on favour direct hit?

From the videos ive seen of them lobbing them out theyre so high up that all they can see is "yeah theres a town down there"

Unless it came down so low somone with an AK or heavy machine gun could have had a pop at it no chance they aimed that accurate

No disrespect to the victims but its a shot and a half to do from any sort of real height then.

I know Israel uses concrete bombs and drops them with some accuracy (at least from news pov) on bridges. But literally a barrel rolled out is just a guess.

Can we be 100% certain it was a barrel bomb? Sorry if news already come out, haven't really followed

Apparently the aid convoy attack was done by Russian planes, according to the US...

So that's everyone now implicated by everyone else isn't it? Must have been pretty busy airspace up there at that time!

Yup. The Americans blame the Russians (which isn't totally unfair given the Russians tendency to bomb anything and everything).

The Russians on the other hand blame the rebels - I'm shocked they even have any air strike asset.

Their other explanation seems to be that a blaze suddenly occurred on the convoy. Hmmmm, I think option 1 looks most likely.

Queue resident shills to bleat something contrary to this common sense though.

Seeing as the mission statement of SHADER is and always has been to "disrupt and degrade ISIL" (not defeat) I don't see how anyone would ever had thought otherwise... Unless they're ignorant.

To the rest of your post: Evidence, evidence, evidence.

Until facts change the opinions you ignore contra-evidence that Aleppo was being targetted by ISIS.

So far the US has not denied the info contained herein: https://www.rt.com/news/359990-russia-denies-aleppo-strike/

You will note about the lack of crater damage and i would think any sized bomb hitting a convoy would leave little left resembling a car. But you have your little round of wishful thinking

Lets see what the facts of the engagement turn out to be. Either way I cannot help but question the convenience of this attack in the wake of the US breaking a ceasefire to bomb and kill 60+ Syrian soldiers.

A useful distraction imo
