ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

I dunno, sometimes you just need to go through that period of mass ethnic genocide so that sectarianism ends up no longer being a problem.

Edited for accuracy.

Yet another pro dictator on the forum. Go ocuk! Proud of ya.

Do explain what life is like in rebel held territories?

Even where is is no direct fighting or bombing. A crap hole that is what it is like.

Not a single person has said Assad is a hero, the simple fact is he is better than all the alternatives.

He can not be removed atm as this will cause much greater instability, the people who are fighting government will not stop until every other religious minority is removed other than Sunni.

Once the government has achieved victory then would be the time for him to step down

in that case - lets bulldoze all of Scottish people into the sea for expanded English `living space`

I need a holiday home in the highlands.....and so does trump

from another standpoint - Gadaafi , Hussein etc kept the nut jobs (and those he didn't like) in check - we didn't have the multi country war fare we have today....

We've had this over many times in this thread (and other threads). Some people are for dictators, to rule "the barbarians" with an iron fist and stamp out anyone with other views. Personally I think that's it's disgusting to view people so lowly and it is short sighted not to promote progression in these states. So what if there is infighting and violence to get there? The modern civilised world went through it all to get there. The views held by some people on this forum are simply because they're sat in their cushy little homes without any real comprehension of the world beyond.

The infighting and violence hasn't really changed since 632 and the death of Muhammad and then after the split in Islam between Sunni and Shi`a

Absolutely, (which on another note is why I Cringe when the ocuk resident shills harp on about the west creating isil. No, we simply triggered another phase of the historic Sunni vs Shia war). So let's consider what might overcome this silly religious based war? I mean, looking at the developed world it could actually be progress, secularism, education and certainly not dictators...

There are 101 cases of rebels using human shields in Syria

How about chopping a live childs head off?

If you don't think Jabhat Fateh al-Sham AKA Al-Nusra Front are everywhere in Syria you need your mind testing.

And yet you're still pro Assad, who does just as worse, but is the leader of the nation. Wow!
