ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

How come this lot didn't get wiped out mid convoy, i don't care what deal was done, it is like they are allowed to get away to come back at another time, when they are needed imo.

Because "we" are on the side of ISIS. Its blatantly obvious.

Its a disgrace what the UK has become. Look at who has to gain by ISIS being around. It ain't Assad.

Good thing Russia came in.

Ditto, sweet cheeks. You bring me much joy and humour.

Nice to know mods routinely allow continued antagonism from you directed at me despite repeated reports and it being against the forum rules. Yet I make comment of IQ=4 and get hit with a 3day ban.

Ever likely this place isn't getting half the posts it used to in 2016. Its because of biased moderating against certain posters in favor of other blunt objects - like yourself - in the hope their target posters will say something so they can use the ban hammer

I can see that you've had 2x RTMs against you since Oct 2017, one of which was rejected.

Not every post requires intervention, and we do get a lot of RTMs just because people don't like the opposing viewpoint. Any bias you detect is a construct of your own making.

We are happy to discuss further in FCD if you wish to pursue this.

Sounds like 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

You're posting in a thread I created, this means I get a notification every time someone posts in it, not just you. You aren't special. If you post hilariously bias posts like "thank goodness for Russia" in here, then you are of course going to receive responses of "haha". If you get upset about receiving critical responses to your opinions on an open forum then I suggest you don't post your opinions on an open forum. You come across as defensive, angry and immature.

I wouldn't be upset about being called sweet cheeks ;) stop taking yourself and your own opinion so seriously.

It's quite obvious from all the airstrike footage we've seen we're certainly not on the side of ISIS, you sound like someone from info wars.

If you read the article it appears the SDF are fed up with doing all the dying, so they made the descison, can you really blame them?

Conspiracy theorist paranoia ahoy!

* yes, Syria's central bank is state owned; but this makes no difference to anyone except Syria, so nobody cares
* yes, Syria banned the use of the US dollar; in fact, she banned the use of all foreign currencies, due to her ongoing hyperinflation crisis (and you can guarantee that foreign currency is being enthusiastically shared on the Syrian black market)
* yes, Syria has oil and gas reserves, but they're nowhere near as large as those owned by US-friendly countries that already trade with America, so who cares?
* yes, Syria has banned GMOs because Assad is an ignorant dictator and most of the population is pretty shortchanged in the education department as well; but nobody cares
* yes, Syria has no IMF debt; she finally paid it off in 2012; but again, who cares?
* destabilising Syria won't make any difference to the issues listed above

Meanwhile, Syria's economy has collapsed by 75% since 2010. Oops!

Have you forgotten where you are? This isn't InfoWars, or AboveTopSecret.

The problem with CT nuts is they will only acknowledge what they want to see.

Just read that myself, disgraceful they allowed the fighters to leave, should've been wiped out.
Apparently they were well dug in, had scores of women and children with them. And short of bombing the place into rubble, SDF casualties would have been high.

The decision was made by local Syrian officials, and the coalition decided to respect their decision.

Sucks, because according to first-hand reports they showed no signs of accepting defeat, and were vowing to return and behead those who opposed them. Genuine nutcases the lot.

Not saying there is anything to it - but in the realm of conspiracy external debt allows those with ulterior motives i.e. the "West" to exert control, no debt means they can't be manipulated from that angle.

Exactly. Guess what would have happened if we'd have just bombed these convoys? The pro Russian/anti West/self loathers would be up in arms posting about how the West are targeting innocent civilians.

When Russian government propaganda goes horribly wrong:

On the morning of November 14th 2017 the Russian Ministry of Defence published multiple posts in Russian, Arabic, and English on their Twitter and Facebook accounts, claiming to show “irrefutable evidence” of collusion between the US and ISIS combat units.

Unfortunately for the Russian MoD, eagle-eyed Twitter users immediately spotted some problems with the images. One image claimed to show an ISIS convoy leaving Abu Kamel on November 9th, 2017.

What this in fact showed was a cropped screenshot from the mobile phone game AC-130 Gunship Simulator, specifically a screenshot from a promo video for the game.

A side by side comparison of the Russian MoD image and the mobile phone game screenshot shows they are identical, with even part of the text from the promo video reading “DEVELOPMENT FOOTAGE. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. ALL CONTENT SUBJECT TO CHANGE.” visible in the cropped image used by the Russian MoD as their “irrefutable evidence.”

The other images are also not from the dates and locations claimed by the Russian MoD, but from videos filmed in Iraq in 2016. The Conflict Intelligence Team highlighted one of these videos, showing the Iraqi Air Force bombing ISIS in 2016.

Other Twitter users identified footage from Iraq 2016 reused by the Russian MoD as part of their “irrefutable evidence.”

I appreciate that Putin is desperate to win the propaganda war at any cost, but this really is hilariously incompetent.

:D
