Football supporters milk the history of their club with honors they had won before they were even born!!!

Doesn't that define the word glory hunter? When i was 5 i could have looked for the club with the most prolific history and preach about them for the rest of my life.

For example, I was born in 1989 and am a Chelsea fan, since my birth we have won

Premier League x2
FA Cup x 3
League Cup x3
FA Community Shield x2
UEFA Cup Winners Cup
European Super Cup

Now for example i have friends who support Tottenham who were also born in 1989 and they go on about how superior their history is.

What right do they have to mention it seeing as they weren't even born when it happened!!! They have a right to mention it but to shove it in my face?

Since 1989

Tottenham have won:

League Cup x2
FA Cup

That's 12-3 in Chelsea's favour yet they still mock me? Same goes for Liverpool who've won 7 trophies since i was born.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

We won this (insert cup) before i even knew we existed (retarded deluded fan)

Congratulations on beating us for the 2nd time in the league in the last 19 years ;) Thus meaning in my lifetime I've only ever witnessed you beat us twice in the league.

No wonder why you all get raging boners over it.

Did football not exist before 1989 or something?

If I'm talking with someone who was born when they actually won the cups they have every right to talk about it.

If I'm talking with a 50 year old Liverpool fan he has every right to shove it in my face

But a 19 year old spurs fan who has only seen his club lift 3 cups in his lifetime? He can go do one.

Try reading my post properly.

Must be hard seeing your club lift 3 trophies in the last 20 years?

Even before we came in to money, we still have a far superior tally compared to you over the last 20 years.

....and at what cost?

You can't lord it over anyone.

No it's not hard, I'm Spurs win, lose or draw. Will be harder for you when you end up in the soup.... will you still be a big Chelsea fan then?

I remember when you lot were in Division 2 son ;)

I'll always be a Chelsea fan, back in 1989 we won the second division, can hardly accuse me of being one of the fans who jumped on the bandwagon.

Jesus, I'm talking about with reference to who I'm talking WITH

Tell me why a 19 year old spurs fan has any right to mention the FA Cup won in 1901

If I'm talking with a 60 year old spurs fan they can go on about winning the league in 1960-61 as much as they like.

They have a right to mention it because it is part of the history of the club, you're obviously welcome to discount it as being unimportant, I probably would too but why draw the line at the date of your/their birth?

Why not? Why is it relevant if they weren't born?

As i said, when i was 5/6 i could have just looked at the team with the best history and decided to support them even though i haven't witnessed a single one of their honors.

Boohoo my club didn't win anything before a rich man came along recently and helped us buy good players.

You absolute....

He took over in 2003 and chelsea won 5 of those 12 trophies before you even knew he existed.

5 = 2 more than spurs if you want to take abromovich out of the equation

Hmm i don't really know how to come back with regards to 1966

I guess my only thing to fall back on is that internationally you never hear people arguing about who won this and who won that because we are all from the same country and support the same nation (predominantly)

Whereas with clubs there are non-stop debates and bickering about who is the better team.

It's not about significance, of course WW1/WW2 are significant.

Just as winning a cup in 1901 is significant but it doesn't mean you should be able to use is as an example of your superiority over another club and shove it in the face of a fan from an opposing team.

Significant? Yes.

Relevant to you in regards to you being able to talk about it as if you have personal experience of it? No.

You know who I mean.

This is another example of how ignorant you are. The bickering will always continue about everything, when it comes to football, cars, areas or music so why get so upset about it?

Oh my ignorance of being able to play a music instrument and not wanting to listen to music created on software...

I agree with you, they have the right to bring it up but as i said earlier

Significant? Yes.

Relevant to you in regards to you being able to talk about it as if you have personal experience of it? No.

They have the right to bring it up, it's when they get arrogant and start mocking you about it....
