Italian Grand Prix 2012, Monza - Race 13/20

\0/ Five week gap then back-to-back races!

Can't wait for the weekend. Hoping Hamilton can get the new rear wing working (because it obviously works) and smashes it.

He *usually* bounces back from bad luck like Spa with a good result.

Would love to have both McLarens on the podium and I guess Alonso will be there too.

With McLaren's lack of straight line speed at Spa, I'm thinking this is not going to be a good weekend for them.

On the flip side, Red Bull had a very fast car.

But Alonso will have 100,000 Italians pushing him along too.

Honestly can't call it. But cant wait!

I don't think Mclaren were really lacking speed at all at Spa. The speedtraps were massively missleading with it being just after Eau Rouge, redbull just carried the most speed through. They looked to be struggling on the straights compared to others.

At Monza no-one is going to be risking a higher downforce configuration at the expense of extra cornering unless they have something very special; like the McLaren F-duct a few years back. I don't think the double drs that the Merc has is close to be that effective.

Definitely wouldn't want to put money on who is going to win at the moment, but I'd like to see anyone on the Podium other than Alonso/Vettel just to mix things up really!

Would love to have a podium of Hamilton, Button and Webber. Though I think Vettel will beat Webber and Button will mention balance 300 times during the weekend. McLaren seem to have a quick car so Hamilton win, Alonso second and Vettel third.

Will be interesting to see how the lotus test driver does

Hopefully lotus won't have as much rear wing as last time and they will have the double Drs in use, not sure how quick they will be in a straight line since the break

Surely gearing (and wing levels) are heavily dependant on outright speed for Monza?

I really dont know, its a genuine question - but JB has fought for the win in 2010 and 2011 (and narrowly missed out both times), so hopefully 3rd time lucky :D

I didn't realise the speed trap wasn't at the end of the straight for Spa, so the top speed times are a bit odd.

Hopefully McLaren will be up the front then. Although to be honest I will be happy with a close fight all race between anyone.

I hope he beats Lewis again anyway :) maybe Lewis will rage on twitter some more into the bargain :D

the other thing to note is that the new low-down force wing that JB got working so well should be good for Monza too, wonder if Lewis can get it working better to his advantage with more setup time available (probably) on Friday

did you not see button lapping a second clear of most of the field last race?

and red bull maxing out on the straights behind the williams.

i think its between mclaren and ferrari.

hopefully hamilton can bounce back with a win.

alonso and vettel retirements would be great for the championship, bringing it right back together.

Yeah if mc get it together I think the constructors os theirs, massa prevents ferrari from taking it.

I'm hoping for lotus to claim third, that would be much more than Ihoped at season open

Yeh..for sure :D

Going to miss this :( at a wedding. Still can watch it when I get back hungover.

I think this is will be a Lewis track. I think McLaren will show its true pace with the upgrades. Button showed it off and I'm sure more can be extracted, with all the data they have now.

Dear Mclaren,

Use a longer 7th gear ratio.

Yours faithfully,

The World.
