and red bull maxing out on the straights behind the williams.

That comment was based on the speed trap times (where McLaren were poor), but before I found out that the speed trap was at the top of Eau Rouge and not at the end of the straight.

Yeah, in this case its Grosjean who has been banned for a race. Lotus are still free to field 2 cars.

That comment was based on the speed trap times (where McLaren were poor), but before I found out that the speed trap was at the top of Eau Rouge and not at the end of the straight.

From vettel and webbers onboard you could see they had awsome acceleration up to top speed, they just had a low top speed. Would be why they were quick in the traps.
