Monza

Monza is regarded by many as the embodiment of Formula One racing. Not only is it a fantastic example of a track that combines speed with skill, it also has a heart and soul all of its own. It has seen some of the finest races of all time, but also some of the sport's worst accidents. The names of great drivers and the sounds of engines from years gone by linger in the grand old trees surrounding the track in the royal park.

Work began on the circuit in 1922 and was completed in under six months. After Brooklands in the UK and Indianapolis in the USA, it was the third permanent race track in existence. With a banked oval incorporated into the design of the road racing circuit, the total track length stood at a whopping 10 kilometres.

The list of famous victories and horrifying crashes is long, and all combine to make Monza one of the most magical places on the Formula One calendar. For many there is nowhere that encapsulates the sport better than this circuit. The Italians call it 'La Pista Magica', the magic track, a description few would disagree with.

I just hope it's not another follow Vettel around the circuit race. I had high hopes for Spa thinking that Lewis could keep Vettel behind him. I was proved wrong in about 30 seconds. :(

I'm not holding out much hope now that Red Bull seem to have found a setup which works with a decent straight line speed :(
 
Straight line was always their bogey area. But as I have already mentioned, its been 4 years, McLaren and Ferrari need to buck their ideas up and take the challenge to RBR. Ferrari with Alonso at Monza should be throwing everything they can at it. If they get beaten by RBR again, just shrugging their shoulders and going "meh, they are just to quick" is simply not good enough any more.

McLaren/Ferrari/Mercedes/Lotus all need to step up and join the fight, rather than hoping for something that brings RBR back to them.
 
Get in, just realised missus is at work this sunday. me and the little lad will be on the sofa all day then!

They always go well at Monza anyway regardless of their "track does not suit us claim."

Not sure why Skeeter thinks the other teams are not doing all they can to beat Red Bull though?

This x 100. I was there at Spa watching Lewis with a decent lead going down the hill to Eau Rouge as he shot past me (got a video on YouTube of it actually), next thing I know is Vettel is alongside him and overtaking him. I just couldn't comprehend how it happened or whether Lewis had made a mistake. Red Bull seem to be one step ahead for the 3 high speed circuits with their slightly narrower rear wing and low downforce set up.

I just hope Mercedes can bring the fight come Sunday.
 
Mclaren have been conducting some straight line aero tests in Italy ahead of this weekend's GP. I hope they've found some performance increases... I expect most teams will be bring marginal updates as Sam Michaels has already stated that Mclaren will be bringing a few small upgrades with Singapore the next race due for major updates.
 
Definitely missing this one, got a falconry thing I've booked for Sunday, don't mind to much Tbh

Lotus are going backwards now anyway.. But they done well to compete with the top 3

McLaren will now turn up with a completely flat rear wing and be 20mph faster in a straight line :p

He made a mistake but was slower as well too.
