Italian Grand Prix 2013, Monza - Race 12/19

I don't think it really matters that Alonso threw his toys out in front of the bosses. It's not like they'll want to lose him and kick him out, or that other teams wouldn't queue up to snatch him. It's more likely that they'll feel they have to work harder towards developing a better car.

I think that depends on who makes the decisions. Left to the F1 team boss, sure, but I suspect Luca di Montezemolo is rather less willing to tolerate it. He's already publicly slapped down Alonso once. We'll see.

So, Alonso haranguing the team over the radio and generally acting like a brat. What price Hulk+Massa at a rebuilding Ferrari for the next few years? Gives time for Bianchi to get some experience with a view to replacing Massa when he retires, and gets rid of an Alonso who seems to be going right off the boil.

You mean Ferrari who paid of Kimi to get rid of him, and fired Prost for being outspoken?

Shouting in front of the team principle is one thing, publicly shouting at the whole company in front of the company boss in the companies back yard, in the companies own language, that's stupidity from someone who thinks he's untouchable. Luca will respond, should be a good read.

As I've said before, if you want the future predicting with 100% accuracy you don't ask sunama.

;):p:D

Hulk yes, Massa? Are you having a laugh, he's been next to useless these past few years.

Hulk + Kimi would be a better combination if Alonso is leaving.

Well, I thought about putting Kimi's name there instead but we are talking about someone who was basically paid to leave the team once before. And I know they're talking up the idea of rehiring him but I don't really see it yet. Massa is at least a known quantity, and he might perk up once Alonso is out of the way.

Alonso has a contract until 2015 or 2016, he renegotiated it last year. If he's leaving it will be an expensive process for Ferrari (although they have presidencies). Other than the mild hints about talking to RBR I really can't see Alonso leaving Ferrari of his own accord.

If Kimi joined he would replace Massa.

Just finished watching. Proper well done to the hulk.

Mclaren should have took him when they had the chance. Renault/ Ferrari would be stupid to not try grab him why they can.

As you said yourself, Alonso is contracted for a quite a while longer and it's expensive to end the contract. Luca will just say postive things, that Alonso is passionate aboit his racing and sometimes wears his heart on his sleeve, etc.

Amusing comments in the OcUK F1 thread as usual.
I'd love to see where Ferrari would have been with race wins and WCC points if Alonso hadn't been there (edit: over last couple of years, of course). "None" and "nowhere" are terms that come to mind.

Great lap from Hulkenberg today, shame Webber didn't have a bit more pace to make it interesting...
If Massa drove off and went for his own lap, good stuff from him also! He needs a good race!

Race prediction: Vet, Web, Alo
Would LOVE it to rain, preferably mid way through the race. :)

If Ferrari want out, I'm sure they could say he's damaged their name and breached his contract? :o

From Twitter:
@NobleF1: Caught up in an amusing press scrum with Luca di Montezemolo just now. He shouted at Alonso to ask if he was driving for Marussia next year
