Not a fan of yellow cars but that does look lovely. Congrats mate. Also £400 a year to insure, that is a superb price. I pay that for a rusty old Honda lol.

McLaren does have fantastic steering and the engine, (which shares its foundations I have read in places with Nissan's Group C engine! https://www.whichcar.com.au/features/the-complex-history-of-mclaren-s-m840t-v8) pulls hard all the way up.

Most McLarens have issues, it's like a modern TVR in that manner but rarely mechanical. Having said that my Mercedes of German 'quality' has had 8k of warranty parts and work done so nature of such cars as you well know.

Give it time.

We had a GLA as a daily a few years back. That went through 3 Diffs whilst we had it.... Only did about 60k in it..... So every Marque is vulnerable

Excuse me for being rude and I know this has nothing to do with how cool that car is, but I'm an enquisitive type. That's a 90k+ car but from your driveway you don't live in a mansion. Do you mind saying why you chose to splash cash on something that will depreciate so quickly vs other ways to make money...

I guess since it's motors forum, it's for the love of cars and the price of the car may well be a drop in the pond to your bank balance, but it's strange to see a McClaren sat in your average suburb..

If I was rich I'd definitely buy a McClaren over a Ferrari or Porsche. Great choice.
This has come up before. But big houses come with big bills. Our electric and gas comes in at just short of £2k per month... That gets you into a half decent supercar... Before you look at the other bills.

Plus hes a Petrolhead........

To be fair to chronic I was thinking the exact same thing and was thinking of a polite way of asking the same question.

Very nice car, hope you enjoy it. Annoyed at how cheap the tax and insurance is……..

First mod done today!

For someone usually so pragmatic on such things, why spend so much on a set of plates when a £20 set from halfords would do the job? Extremely hard to quantify, but there is something really special about working with fourdot going through the design options and customisation to get the exact look that you want on the car.

I wanted a cleaner look on the back end, so after a lot of back and fourth, settled on a clean and minimalist look instead of the usual signature plates for this car. I send over a whole bunch of ideas and requests and they designed each one and photoshopped it onto the back of a yellow 570s for me to see how it would look.

That moment you finally get to attach them and "make the car yours" is really personal in a way most non car people won't understand.
