IT'S BACK! - ULTIMA DEMOLISHER

I'd have to sell both my cars & my chopper & I'd still need some cash to add to it, I'll wait ten years & buy it out the M&M cheap. :o
Stonking system by the looks of it though.

No, its really not!

If you're comparing the PC to a Porsche in a folding scenario, it's like saying you're leaving the Porche revving at max while stationary watching how much BHP the engine is making. Driving it around a track would be more comparable to gaming but that doesn't seem to be a selling point going by your description.

So my previous statement stands.

I am not going to argue with you as you are obviously very wound up about this system. Sorry to see that it doesn't make any sense to you but the majority of PC enthusiasts gamers or not, think that this is an amazing build irrespective of price.

You need to be fairly wealth to buy this system, not stupid.

There are people out there who want the best, and this is pretty much it.

I'm not wound up at all. Your sales pitch was just amusing.

I completely agree that it's a fantastic PC, if not the best available and I have no issue with the price or anyone who want's to buy it as long as it's not just for use as a folding PC :p

5K for a folding/encoding pc is'nt that expensive, iv seen people that rely on extremely fast encoding/decoding machines spend double that, but they rely on that to make a living, so it balances out.

About the folding thing, 5k for a folding rig, ok yes for most thats expensive, but those of us that fold, know that 5k is'nt that much compared to how much some people of spent.
I know of atleast 1 person that has spent 50k+ on folding rigs, he does this as one of his family members has one of the disease's that folding is trying to find cures for, so for him he had the money and wanted to as much as he could.

So bare in mind, folding is'nt just using the computers power for no reason, there is a reason why people fold.

I used to fold years ago and at one point had close to 350 PC's folding 24X7 for over 3 years. A perk of the job and fully authorised by management. So I'm no stranger to folding.

I'm currently helping raise money for a friends 2 year old son who's got Ewing’s Sarcoma. If I had the money I'd donate £5K to his fund rather than buying a folding PC as it would be far more effective at helping someone with an immediate life threatening disease.

No need to be insulting. The system is advertised as the ultimate gaming/folding system. I cannot think of another single system which could offer both extremes and do them so well. As you said you are no stranger to folding, surely you can recognise the power of x2 Overclocked 6 core Xeon CPUs and x2 GTX 580s, no?

"If gaming isn't your main objective the "Ultima Demolisher" will stomp all competition with it's immense folding and crunching power."

I honestly can't see anyone on OcUK buying this PC for folding alone which is were my 'amusing' point came from. Sure I can see someone buying it for gaming, encoding, rendering or as the ultimate workstation etc. But this awesome PC was advertised as a gaming or if that's not your bag a folding system.

I'm sorry if post was insulting to you. I would have just promoted the "Ultima Demolisher" slightly differently, that's all.

People may well not buy it for folding alone, but one of its selling points is you can do anything on this beast and it wont break a sweat.

The people who buy these probably have millions in the bank anyway, I doubt they care about £5k.

Totally agree :)

Dons unite lol

I'm just expressing my opinion. No need to gang up on me :p

Thats what this forum is about, constructive critiscm is needed at times!

Agreed, this is why it is called the "Demolisher" :p

Apologies if it came across the wrong way.

Are we likely to see any benchmarks soon?

No worries! We have benchmarks from an older thread, however there has been a couple of changes.

Mainly the PC-P80N over the older PC-P80B case, the Intel Elmcrest SSD Drive and Corsair XMS3 memory.
