Would having two 590's and a 580 for physx be pointless or would it make this system even more epic?

The Lian Li case is chosen as there are very few case that can accommodate the SR-2 motherboard. The motherboard is Intel and isn't compatible with AMD.

So you couldn't release one with a similar mobo that supports AMD?

IMO seeing as its whole spec is already MASSIVE overkill for just about anything i see no reason why they would not go for the absolute maximum on the gfx front as well.

2 (or 3/4!) SLi 3GB 580's (MSI lightenings maybe?) fit the bill nicely.

They are not needed for gaming at any normal res, but neither is the CPU / RAM combo we have here either. Its just the biggest, baddest, fastest, most expensive you can buy! :cool:

At least as a selectable option this makes sense.

But he didn't say it was just for folding, he said folding and encoding. Maybe I miss the point somewhere as I'm not sure whether encoding is all that different but this PC can clearly do more than just folding so his sales pitch which did highlight more than one feature wasn't all that bad. You're being too deliberately awkward, focusing too hard on one aspect that doesn't prove your point at all and being a little insulting. I couldn't afford this PC in a hundred years but unlike you I don't seem a little mad about it.
