Its Coming - Ahsoka

Don't you remember all those decades where a trailer would drop and men on forums would count how many speaking roles all the men appeared to have?

I do remember when it was polite to answer a question when it was asked though, especially as this a forum based around discussion, questions and answers etc. I mean not answering questions would seem to make a "forum" a waste of time, wouldn't you think?

You must be new to the Music, Box Office, TV & Books forum. The alt-righters have been trying to force their agenda in here for a while.

Need to remember these simple rules, TV made for the middle aged white man (aka a strong male lead) = good, TV made for anyone else (aka not a strong male lead) = bad.

Alternatively, people on all sides are just saying what they do or don't like. I don't see anyone being "forced" to accept an opinion that they disagree with and I don't see people telling anyone "you can't post here if you disagree" as a way of forcing compliance. So if people on all sides are free to post what their opinions are, and others on all sides are free to disagree with them, then I'm really struggling to understand how, in your reality, the "Alt righters try to force their agenda" on people when it's simply "here are my opinions - I agree/disagree with you".

I do find the general concept that "if people disagree with my opinion then they must be trying force their opinion on me" laughable though. Anyone whose mind is so weak or still unformed that someone simply saying "I disagree with you" is enough for them to feel that they are being "forced" to change their own opinion should probably be using the internet supervised (children for example).

Remember, just because our opinions over a TV show differ doesn't make either one of us right or wrong about the show, art is subjective after all.

Trailers certainly make this look great and as a big fan of Clone wars & Rebels I want this to be great too. But the Obi wan trailer had me super hyped too before release and that series was a total meh at best.

Really hoping this one doesn't disappoint!

Rebels will Rise.....!

I guess many of these characters in the trailer are familiar to people who watched Rebels. I can't be bothered to go back and watch it. Even with my knowledge just from the main Films and the TV shows, it looks great.

It's ironic but in man ways Star Wars Rebels was some of the best Star Wars made since Disney took over. There are one or two blips but otherwise it really fit with the ethos of the OT and PT. Most of the character additions were good too and they re-used Clone Wars characters respectfully building on the lore. It's a real shame more haven't seen it.

Yeah, but even when it's a supposed male lead, we get bait and switch, like the Womandalorian :p

Turned out to be the Bo Katan show.

Obi wan show was exactly the same.

Oh and Netflix are at it too with the Witcher.

So you're telling me that Obi-wan was based around Obi-Wan's life and that the Ahsoka series is going to be based around Ahsoka's life. But The Mandalorian isn't only based around Din Djarin? If only it was called 'A Mandalorian' or 'The Din Djarin show' rather than 'The Mandalorian' which is ya know, the collective, and plural, name for all people from Mandalore. Or could it possible be that The Mandalorian is, and was always, going to be a show about the Mandalorian, as a people, rather than A Mandalorian?

Good attempt, not quite though as 'The Mandalorian' denotes someone of mandalore, rather like Englishman would be used to describe a single person/inhabitant of England - if it was a show about all the people of Mandalore it would be The Mandalorians, plural.

Hope Ezra makes a comeback
Don't worry, they'll definitely make a comeback, they have got loads of lives and the locations of all the skeletons of the WB exec - wait. That's not the Ezra you're talking about is it? :D

Anyway to stay on topic, I'll resub to Disney plus to check this out. But nothing else on D+ currently interests me, so it's a one and one thing.

The more they show in trailers the more my expectation levels drops. Something seems a little off, the fight choreography looks weak and is it me or are they trying to shoehorn in scenes reminiscent of previous sw - vadar's hallway scenes from R1, that stupid han solo whooping when he blows something up from anh to name a few.

That's the problem with most of the recent Star Wars. It spends so long trying to give fan service with references, characters, places, etc. instead of delivering on the promise of the universe and making strong characters, vivid situations, and powerful stories. Andor aside, that is.

Still, I'll watch it before passing judgement.
