Nobody can possibly hate Bombadier! That is a theoretical impossibility!

On a different matter, the Fursty Ferret is a winner. Try and find some 'Temptation' from the Durham Brewery (can't find this in supermarkets I'm afraid) - 10% vol. Now that's what I call beer :D!

yay! just got back from the bar and a quick pint of hieneken (the only thing they sell pints of :() and i'm off to work on 6 bottles of plam I bought earlier. Lager for the Win!! :p

EDIT: plus a movie and a hockey game at like 3 am, staying up to listen to that is going to be hard (Calgary vs Peinguins though so it ought to be a good game especially if calgary wins :p)

Lol! Rofl!

Dirty mind tbh. :o

I'm tempted to try these strangely named beers now, is there any that have a generally wide appeal to almost everyone? I dont want to be put off on my first mouthfull.
Try the ones I mentioned earlier: Old Empire and Double Drop (both brewed by Marstons). They have a very light taste, and are more likely to appeal to those who dont normally drink such things.

I'm about to crack the Double Drop so I'll let you know in a moment what I think of it. I'd normally suggest starting with something a bit weaker than that though.

And here it is, the Marston's Double Drop.

"Crafted using the almost forgotten "double dropping" fermentation technique to deliver a fresher and brighter beer that brings out the full, clean flavour of the malt. A large application of late hops are added to the wort kettle to enhance the aroma and give a sense of the botter flavour of beers of the past."

An incredibly strong aroma from this 5% brew, and a very light colour, much lighter than is usually found in beers of this strength.

Easy poured, no real head is noticable (that's how I prefer my beer). It's nice. Very nice in fact. It does have a good clean malty flavour. From the description I was expecting it to be hoppy, but the malt is more noticable than the hops. Yes, this is a nice ale. Try it, Le_Petit_Lapin.

And finally (early close to the evening) it's on to the Fuller's ESB.

"Smooth, full bodied and bursting with flavour, with marmalade fruiteness throughout, ESB's rich malty notes are balanced by a unique blend of Northdown, Target , Challenger and Goldings hops to give a long satsfying finish"

Fullers used to be my local brewery so I'm familiar with their beers. This is without a doubt the beer of the evening. A very complex flavour, it's quite an aquired taste, but one which I aquired a good few years ago.

Top beer. ESB rocks!

I'd just like to say I find these threads very interesting, informative and just plain fun. You have even persuaded me to try out some new beers for myself, something which I didn't have much interest in before having only drank the commercial beers that are sold in every pub i.e. Budweiser.

On the note of drinking alchohol with antibiotics, for christs sake take it steady man.
from personal experiance im telling you, im not a seasoned drinker like urself, but i do drink a fair amount.
