It's getting real hard!

Damn that's rotten luck :(
Still though, I'm interested in your new ITX build as I was looking to build a small rig next year as well so I might steal some of your ideas :D

Out of curiosity, what was the part that leaked in your old rig?

That sucks mate, hope it didn't do too much damage :( Good to see you're using it as an excuse to upgrade again though :D

It was the bottom GPU tube so luckily no damage was done, it just dropped into the bottom of the case.

Luckily no damage, and the system was off at the time so was pretty happy when I got home from work the next day.

Indeed, I thought so too! :p

I'm going to change this thread name to "Sam's ever evolving PC build thread" :D

The Wade household was presented with lots of PC parts this morning.. Mainly because I bought them all.

My brothers PC, on the left, my 3 parts on the right.

Skip the boring building part.. Towards the end of all my troubles that came with this swap I thought i'd do a little cable management, it's not great but it could be worse.

Here she is all done. I need to get a new CPU cooler but I don't know what to go for yet.

Here you can see just how small the Fury X actually is, I was not expecting it to be that small.

Mmmmm.. Preettyyyy..

Looking very nice, your cable management is actually quiet good as the main point is that it looks tidy in the main case area. :)
I also like the red/black Evolv case colouring but I was wondering as in the photos the red appears to have a pink hue on it but is it actually a pinky red colour?

Still though, great work :D

Just a tiny up date and the build is done. No more tinkering.

I bought the OcUK tech labs 240mm cooler and wow! I'm really impressed, compared to my H105 that I had, this thing is awesome .

But it is bloody close, there is 1/2mm in the gap between the two rads.

Couple pictures of the finished product.

That's a lucky fit there, it was as if it was designed to go in snug :)
How is the airflow in the case as with all the space used up for radiators it must get a bit toasty for the motherboard as any airflow will be taken up by the rads?
Speaking of airflow, how are the temps of the build with the new radiator :D

Airflow is great, i'm really surprised.

As far as temps, i've never seen the GPU top 50c, that's in a firestrike bench with the little OC you can add to these w/o voltage control. The CPU is at 4.7ghz and I haven't seen it go over 65c yet. I don't bother with stress tests, I know this is stable so that's just gaming etc. The whole thing idles around 25c.

Thats better than what I would have expected it as with all the radiators I wasnt sure whether it would be dumping heat back into the case. Excellent work :D

Yeah tell me about it, I went from a 4690k to the 4790k and well, I don't notice a difference? I do want x99 though. I'll wait for broadwell-E and then go for a 5960x or something with the new GPU's next year.

I was in a similar situation, I went from a 4670K with 8GB RAM to a 5820K with 16GB RAM. I needed the extra power for other workloads but it makes little difference to gaming with the extra cores not being used to their full potential. Hopefull DX12 should help resolve that though :D

You might be best waiting for AMD Zen as hopefully it might re-vitalise the competition between AMD and Intel :)
