This is simply a kneejerk reaction to Threadripper, Intel caught with their pants down not expecting AMD to offer a competitive product in the enthusiast sector.

With those prices no wonder AMD are doing well against Intel currently.

I would consider a 7800k but that, with a board, plus suitable RAM would end up at the best part of double the cost of a Ryzen system which would suit me in a similar way.

Pricing looks fine to me. Similer to X99. Same old story on here even if we gave em away people would want haribo too.
Line up looks good. Strix I am sure will be very solid given Asus RnD filtering down from Rampage.

To be fair, that 10-core is a damn sight cheaper than the 6950x. Not that I'm defending Intel's pricing; Still over £300 for a quad core? No.

100% correct. Those prices, just for a mobo I'll add, are mental. "Budget" version of these mobos start at £230! Then you need to get the RAM and of course the billion quid CPU. INTEL are going to get humped when TR comes out.
