It's On! Floyd Mayweather - Conor McGregor **No discussions of illegal streams**

I imagine it'll turn out to be a bit of a boring fight with Conor struggling to land and Mayweather waiting for him to tire out. Certainly won't be an exciting tear up.

I don't plan to stay up to watch it so I hope I'm correct!

For those reading a lot in to Mcgregor beating up paulie malignaggi, please remember Ricky Hatton managed to beat him up also around 10 years ago or so and then would have been a much better Paulie than Mcgregor is fighting is sparring. And yes, Floyd managed to school a 'prime' Hatton quite comprehensively and only really got hit once in the whole fight by a jab in the first round or so.

Wouldn't surprise me if the fight ended in a controversy of sorts, allowing them to setup another money spinning rematch on the basis that the loser can claim they were stitched up. Even something like a stoppage opens the door to that, e.g. CM saying he would have won had the fight been allowed to continue.

In the video, which your post made me track down, he looked like a bum, well both of them did. Paulie literally wasn't defending at all and Mcgregor's punches were... wow, embarrassingly poor. Little love taps, no wind up, there was one 'big' punch that was painfully telegraphed and hit Paulie who had one arm down and one across his chest and that didn't rock a guy who retired and is clearly out of shape.

The 'knockdown' is a guy off balance with no apparent actual real punch before it. Looked to me like a tired Paulie leant back to far moved into it and went down, he was starting to get up immediately.

If Mcgreggor can't take on a smaller guy in a sparring session who basically wasn't defending and was boxing as badly as in the few seconds shown in the video there is even less chance than I thought he could beat Mayweather, and I had his chances at about 2% just in case he gets a series of lucky massive punches.

I should say, that is the odds I'd bet on a clean fight, if Mayweather thinks losing his first fight here and a rematch will make him more money I think he'll be up for that.

I would imagine a 'close call' and a rematch after Mcgregor has been in the boxing scene year a more likely money maker. I cant see Mayweather trading his undefeated title for a single payout, his win record looks too good on paper to trade it with an amateur, even if some of it is built up by defensively playing the points system or uneven match-ups.

I agree with the Paulie part but not that Mayweather will seek a rematch. 50-0 is perfect for him and that is the way he will go out imo.

On that sparring session, its clearly been sent out to try and sell this fight...Paulie had literally just landed and was fighting someone who had been trainig for months before hand, the fact that he caught him off balance should very worrying for Connor's camp.

Although i think they already know the outcome of this fight and actually dont care.

I honestly think people forget just how good Mayweather is...

One round he said earlier today, one round he will have Mayweather on the floor.

Hahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha hahahahahaha.

What the holy crap has this Irish douchebag been smoking??

Unless it's a fix, there is no way that he will have Mayweather out in one round. Ok if it was a MMA fight then fair enough I believe him. But in a boxing match?? As I said hahahahahahaha hahahahahaha

Far, FAR better boxers than McGregor have only been able to land a dozen or less punches on Mayweather. What hope does Connor have? None I'd say, but the fight will go beyond five rounds easily and within 0.1 seconds of the finish there will be talk of a rematch to fleece the public even more.

The best outcome for this would be for nobody to buy the fight and stop making promoters and fighters rich for **** poor contests, I'd rather watch two journeyman boxers fight than an MMA fighter vs boxer in a boxing only contest, the only entertainment will be the press conference and the slim chance McGregor snaps after getting tee'd off on and kicks Floyd or something.

I just feel things like this will make both sports worse in the long run as it's no longer about the discipline but the money, something that has ruined boxing over recent years but it seems to have recently got back on track.

I agree with you! It's been so bad for both sports. MayMac Fans are just so stubborn.

I'd be shocked if McGregor even managed to hit Mayweather with a half decent punch at all. He'll wear him out in no time and that will be it.

It’s just amazing how they’ve managed to sell this fight to people as vaguely competitive.

If you put some Irish domestic level boxer in against Mayweather no one in the world would expect him to have a prayer, McGregor is a lower level than an Irish domestic boxer!! Yet people think he can win.

De La Hoya, Hatton Pacquiao, Cotto, Alvarez multiple weight world champions who have boxed their whole lives couldn’t stick a decent glove on Floyd why does anyone think a guy who hasn’t boxed a pro round in his life magically has the answers??

The entertainment in this circus is between now and the first bell on Saturday, once the bell rings the emperor will be found out to have no clothes.

Although I agree, Hatton did tag Mayweather several times in the early rounds.
