It's On! Floyd Mayweather - Conor McGregor **No discussions of illegal streams**

Jabs used for nothing more than to score points don't make a mess.

Against people he can't tee off on because they're legit world-class boxers and thus he is inclined to be more defensive or "safety first", so more jabs and fewer straight rights, hooks, etc. But he should be freer to land far more of the latter on Conor, assuming he doesn't heavily carry Conor. Edit: To clarify, Floyd is very safety first anyway obviously, too much from a fan perspective, but again he should be far less inclined to be that way with Conor, perhaps not only due to the huge gap in skills but maybe a bit of pride as he's representing boxing (I've seen several people say that, yet I'm skeptical as he probably only cares about the money and the 50-0, so I think he'll still noticeably play safe).

I think people will be surprised at how competitive the first third of the fight will be.

Well, obviously many people are saying Conor has absolutely no chance or next to no chance, and I've seen some predictions that Floyd will take him out very early. But I expect Floyd will take the usual first few rounds to gauge Conor anyway, and combined with Conor's likely aggressiveness in those rounds, it'll seem surprisingly competitive then to some people.

Yes, when you've taken it out of context

I was replying to someone who inferred that Conor benefits from his body type and size in his submission game - which is wholly incorrect.

Actually you got it wrong. I inferred that his body type is more suited to MMA than boxing, regardless of his performance in MMA. He could have the worse submission game in MMA but at the end of the day, his build still lends him toward being a MMA fighter over a boxer. That is a disadvantage compared to Mayweather who has a build which he has trained for the boxing ring.

You have not explained how his 'size' would help Mcgregor out.

although im very interested in watching the fight,
i cba to watch/listen to anything related to this fight untill the first press conference

I don't think we need to see videos to know who's more eloquent, accurate and quicker at hitting a bag. Conor's slim chance is on catching a guy flush with a power punch that world class boxers haven't been able to do or to put it another way he's climbing in there for about the same numerical value in money as his odds of doing that are.

I love how people say that, it's such a random pointless comment. Surely the same goes for any fight ever. "Sure, he's heavily outgunned, but he could just knock him out in one punch".

I'm sure the world champion would be expecting his opponent to come and punch him in the head.....

Err yeah, and all I said is it'd be funny if he did after all that's been said. I wasn't commenting on his chances, whether they be slim or none.

Mayweather has been hurt on a few occasions but not to an extend he is unable to go in to his defensive shell and weather the storm. I think he probably has an above average chin if it came to it.

I was looking at a montage on youtube showing Mayweather taking quite a few good punches throughout his career and he just puts his defenses up, recovers, and continues. McGreggors only hope is that Mayweather is a bit rusty (not convinced) and his age. In fact his age is the only thing for me that gives McGreggor even a sliver of hope.

I think it's going to be a 12 round farce - Mayweather taking no chances and outboxing McGregor. Don't think McGregor will hit him flush at all.

that may well happen if Conor decides to box him,
Conor needs to go out there and fight him.. bully him, push him around, be the bigger man, impose his will etc...

Yeah there is the mma and different movement element but I think Mayweather is too crafty and too fast. I expect a pretty boring match other than a few high points where McGregor looks like he may do something and a master class in defensive boxing.

imo Conors got a chance.. push Floyd around and throw bombs at him, hit his gloves and arms if need be but just apply afla pressure on him, treat him with no respect,
hes only gonna have 2-3 rounds of juice to do it though
