It's snowing...again!!

People have been advised not to go out unless 'absolutely necessary and to take warm clothes, protection and food'. And guns.

It's sad that people actually need advice on what to do in this weather.
Going to work falls into the category of necessary, or it should do.

I have always wondered what planet the advisers are on sometimes. What actually constitues 'absolutely necessary'? Very few people take a journey unless they have to, I mean, what sort of muppet would think of just driving about aimlessly on any day let alone one where there is going to be some travel problems.

I've just forced my way 20 miles through snow from Worcester to Evesham to get to work, only to find no one else is has bothered to get to the office!!

Dammit!

You're having a laugh - there is what, a couple of inches of snow? And you're taking the day off work. Dear me.

erm mate no offense but you dont know what its like here so keep comments like to to yourself. When it snows here your asking for an accident, two very steep slopes out of my village. My mum has already taken 3 hours to do 2 miles home (she went to work 4:00am before it started). I work 15 miles away and its still snowing heavy. Theres 5 inches outside so far, and ild rather not spend 9 hours getting home like 4 years ago.

Last time it was like this people had to walk 1.5 miles into the village and leave their cars at the bottom of the hills.

Woooooooooooooot check outside my window :D

You'd be surprised.

As for the necessary bit, it's all about common sense - it's not really that difficult.

If you can work from home do it, don't drive miles in very poor driving conditions and possibly burden the already overworked emergency and highway agencies. Or worse.

Most places have conditions that are reasonably okay, but I have seen a few people this morning taking huge risks on the roads, and through luck more than judgement coming out unharmed.

This is crazy!

I've not gone to work cause people are sliding their cars down my hill into a pile at the bottom! I drive for a living and there is no way I'm driving my van round country lanes in Buckingham in this LOL

We've got a foot of snow piled up against our gate and its still coming down thick and fast!

Had a phone call from my mum who lives up the road in brackley and she said they have had more than 5 inches and that there has been multiple crashes around silverstone! lol
